You missed the fun completely!

But....let's get the basics correct here.
I would not care a damn about how it's pronounced in Spanish.
I did not learn Japanese or Korean when I bought my NHC and Tucson.
Their sales guys were talking to me in Marathi, Hindi and English.

If SEAT want to sell their cars to us, they have to understand our language and not vice versa.

Nice car though and I saw a lot of SEAT cars in Duesseldorf some time back - majority of their models are good-looking.

Regret the swift grey?
Anyway I still don't understand why the Seat is being tested in India. Is VW gonna launch Seat instead of their own small cars? Seat is known for sporty stylish hatches, real hot hatches!

The German plate is mysterious.I dont think they are testing in India.nnot so openly.
I guess it belongs to a Diplomat visiting Osho Ashram.Lot of foreigners head there and also there is a German bakery in Pune...all roads lead there for Germans in an Ibiza probably.

To me, this car seems like an NRI import. As is common, lot of NRI's import their cars when shifting base to India but have to comply to certain rules which may explain the visit to ARAI.

Highly unlikely to be a diplomat car because such cars usually have a blue number plate and in any case, SEAT is not really a car , a German diplomat would like to be chauffered in, given they have whole lot of German beasts (Mercs, BMW, Audi, VW, Skoda, et al) at service.

Why all the speculation? ACI has already stated that this is being used by VW as a test mule for the Polo.

Note from Team-BHP Support : PLease take the time out to proof-read our posts prior to submission. A poorly written post is an eyesore to other members. Thanks

hey all .. I saw the same car in Blore - Mysore Highway on April 9th on my trip to Kerala for the Big week .. !! I think i saw the same as posted by 'karlosdeville '
I couldnt take a snap nor i remember the number .. !! ..

I was driving in my friendzz M800 and I saw this car in my rear view mirror , first I thought it was a Swift diesel , but then the speed with which it was approaching made me change my thoughts if it were a red Skoda Fabia .. Later only when it passed me I could note the 'European Number plate and then the name Ibiza .. !! ..

Again I saw the same car from Mysore and It was coming from opposite side .. If my memories are correct there were some guys inside the car .. and as discussed even I was wondering wats this car doing around in Banagalore .. !!

Autocar India was mentioning that the testing the mechanicals for the new Polo was being done on a Seat mule. Could this be it?

Spotted this car on Bannerghata Road, Bangalore

Could not take pictures. The car was at Hulimavu on Bannerghata Road. The car was parked and 2 people were standing next to it. Did not look like any diplomats though.

Looks good & more sturdy as it belong to VW family. Seems to be VW is planning something seriously in India. Great, keep them flowing.

Re: Spotted Seat Ibiza

"The Volkswagen Group may bring its Seat brand to our shores to further consolidate its position in India. By launching Seat products in India, the VW Group could benefit from even greater economies of scale which is crucial in driving down costs and increasing market share."
