I understand what you're trying to say. You got confidence because you saw the VW brand association, and now you feel betrayed by VW because they chose to associate with people like Skoda, and so you're saying you'll find it hard to trust VW again...right?

I see your point, and I agree with your reasoning as well. I only cited all those other brands in the VW stable to show that one bad apple does not spoil the bunch.

Furthermore since we are on the subject of AUDIS my friend from pune got a new A6 and on the first day the power steering failed on it within 300 kms of driving, this in a car costing 50 lakhs. He had to keep the car in the service station for about a week to get it repaired as the parts were not available and they had to be imported from Germany .IF skoda with so many cars sold ,so many dealers and service stations cannot give you good service then imagine what is going to happen with AUDI , VW .The other cars you have named like Porsche , Lambo, Bugatti are only niche cars with hardly any mass appeal, priced out of reach of most people in INDIA.
Boy O Boy ... this keeps getting better.

VAG is doomed in quality, methinks.

Inspite of the world knowing about the defects in their Fabia 1.4 Mpi model, Skoda continues to deny anything wrong with their model. It will be better if Skoda rectifies its mistakes and accepts the problems in this model, rather than hiding the facts and trying to take customers for a ride

NO more Fabia

After reading this thread, sales and service support of Skoda, I think of not replacing my Hyundai Santro with Fabia. Rather buy another Santro / i10 from Hyundai......
Skoda brand name is high but with poor service support in non-urban areas; I cannot think of buying it as in current road conditions(although impreved than my childhood days) the car is expected to give trouble. After all it is a machine.

Now No Skoda only Hyundai....The proven reliable car

Back to square one

Hi folks

Looks like its back to square one with Skoda.

They thought they tested the waters and probably came to the conclusion that they could ride over us.

So people, looks like it's show time. All you guys who were patiently waiting for Skoda to respond, buckle up and lets get going with the original plan.

Check your mail boxes.

Lets start with inspection of all cars serviced by Nummer Eins and lets initiate the press conference towards the class action law suit.

Cheers.

I think they just were playing along with no real intentions of solving any issues as they were going to launch the new Skoda cars.

My contribution to the cause.

Walked into a prominent Skoda showroom in Mumbai a couple of days ago. The salaams started when they saw that I alighted from a Mercedes Benz ( My father in law's E240) , then the receptionist got up and escorted me to a comfortable seating area and offered me tea while she summoned the manager. The informed him that I was interested in buying a fleet of Superbs for my company ( I am in the construction business so everyone assumes that Construction equals money though thats not always the case) and was given a run through the car that they had at the showroom. Then I proceeded to take a test drive of the Diesel version ( Which was honestly, below my expectations).

After the test drive , over tea and biscuits I discussed the financial aspects of the deal ( 10 weeks waiting for the Petrol and 6 weeks for the Diesel) and told them that I would take a decision in a day or so.

I got a call from them yesterday and after we exchanged pleasnteries they asked me if I had taken a decision yet. I informed them that I had been doing some research and found that the ASC ( Authorised service centres) performance had not been at par and I had to therefore move my business elsewhere.

They ( Naturally) assured me that I would get nothing but the best service from them , but I resisted and said that my or my company would not be doing any business with Skoda Auto till we get better service reviews. I thanked them and could hear the disappointment in their voice when I put the phone down. They naturally would have to make a report of the matter to their superiors so I hope this little effort will help .

Even God doesn't help those who don't help themselves. We've yet to see a SINGLE development on all the suggestions that I, Rehaan & Navin made to Skoda.

Sigh........but well, it's not like the customer is lacking in choices. There's far better options out there.

Its good to know that we can check the year of Manufacture of the VW/Audi/Seat/Škoda vehicles. If any one have a doubt that they have been cheated - Enter your VIN in that site
Also found a good site to know A-Z about VIN

Dear GTO,
Thank you for your persistence in trying to help prospective car buyers (read Skoda). I used to closely follow the thread and sometime down the line couldn't catch up with the voluminous responses from keen members.

May I make a suggestion? Could you please make a synopses of the whole thread highlighting the milestones achieved? This request is for the benefit of people who stumble upon the thread, as well as people like me who somehow missed the action and do not have time to read through the whole pages.

Thank you.

This has already been taken care of. Go to the first and second post of this thread. You will find all details there.
