Wonder of much of this will help future customers. 2 days ago I saw a bangalorean happily driving a WHITE TDI Laura out of TAFE showroom on Hosur Road. I was pitying him...!!

Shouldn't the industry average be somewhere in the middle rather than top? How can only two cars be above industry average and rest be below it? For example, Mahindra at third place is 28 points below the industry average

What you are saying is very interesting. I think what they may have done is to take the mean of all the scores. Thus the fantastic score of Maruti (824) raises the bar that only Honda can come close to

Cheers,

@ cruiser - due to its sheer numbers, maruti probably has more weightage

Hyundai seem to have slipped badly. Is it the dealerships trying to sell decokes, flushes, and so on at service.

Fellow BHP'ians - STICK to the Skoda Angle of the Thread.

Assumption:
When is the JD Study done?
Is it done on new customers within 2-3 weeks of their purchase?
Or is it done within a year?

Theory:
Back in 2006, when Skoda TOPPED J.D, its A.S.S was still like a @$$. But if the study was done in the early months, and their car used to last a year before giving up, they may have topped it that manner.

NOW:
The same JD survey, if done within 3-6 months of ownership would be like the following:
1st month - Skoda customer VERY happy with all the smiles (will give a HIGH rating)
2nd month - Niggles, Still a great car - Okok Rating
3rd-6th months - Complete breakdown, what not, all crap. Even if JD study is focussed on the buying aspect and NOT the A.S.S - the customer is going to give CRAP rating?

How correct can be the above assumption?

A Team-BHPian was interviewed byJD power, there is a thread here
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ty-survey.html
If you read this you will realize, it does not matter if a car lasts a day or a million years. All this is bogus

Bummer, it only adds weight to our crusade against Skoda. No matter JD or not, bad business will be shown the door by customer.

That ''SAB CHALTA HAI ATTITUDE'' is bcoz of the way our judiciary functions and the amount of stress it takes. Harishv is yet to get justice and we are keeping our fingers crossed. That speaks about it.

skoda sells cars around 10000 plus per year , this will rise 50 % if Fabia is added .
Moot question is how many dissatisfied customers in these 10000 plus owners.
People who shell out 13 plus lakh on a car (read Laura) are not fools hence one should not express sorrow for them,
They dont have to arrive at a negetive decision on reading team Bhp reviews only.
There are positive reviews else where world wide.

Errr... Neither is the question moot nor the answer.

They are very pertinent to the discussion.

The cars are by no means bad vehicles and any one with any knowledge about machines would see that they are a good choice.

The problems faced are not ones that are apparent from the outside or on paper. It requires one to research a bit and a lot of people don't do that. Spending 13 lacs does not mean that they deserve to be stoned for buying a faulty machine. Sadly, this mindset of blaming the rich man does not let our country progress.

In any case, this is not the discussion. A crime committed against a criminal is a crime still. Skoda is wrong in its place and has decided to not accept their fault.

Fall upon them, ruin will.
