The first pic makes it look like the Octi II, however the rear shot shows its size to be similar to the Fabia. Also, that rear windscreen appears to be fixed as it would be in a saloon.

Either ways, its great news for us!

Not a fabia :-(

Was very happy thinking it is a fabia. But i dont think now that it is a fabia. There is some more boot up above the rearlamps in the fabia original pic. This is not the case with the cammo car. :-(
May be the octy!

Skoda bring the fabia ,bring the fabiaaa!

Not necessary. It could be the Pumpe Düse Diesel Octy too with 140 bhp. COs i guess the RS version of the new Octi isnt available as yet.

Id say its a Fabia. merve has done a pretty good analysis and also considering the width/height ratio from the rear pic it has me convinced that its surely not an octy. Even the tail lamp cluster says its a fabia. And guys you should keep in mind that the pics are taken from inside a zen so the position must have been pretty low and considering the odd angle from which the shot has been taken the rear glass might be looking more rakish then what it actually is.

hkanitkar - great stuff!!!

from the rake of the windshield and length of the boot it appears to be the new octavia...you could also check the height - width ratio....definitely appears too wide to be a c segment offering....

just thought i'd chip in with my 2 cents....

Everyone, a new take on the mystery car.

I saw this car too - on Senapati Bapat road in Pune. I have seen the US version of the Audi A4. The size and build (not to mention the tail lights) of this UFO look very similar to the Audi A4. I have heard that Audi is also setting up shop in India. So any chances of this being the coveted American mid-size? Or are my senses failing me?

both the Audi and Skoda cars and also volswagen cars look similar.also A4 is not going to be built in india anytime soon here so why hide it.isnt it already launched. Will the hide a Mercs while testing in India.they wont?

i have done deeper analysis and as u can see the taillight of the octavia should go below the camaflouge.but it does not and one can see the rounded edge of the light.i think they have moved the light little higher by making the rear bumper a bit taller.also the cars looks bigger than it is because the picture is taken from the rear.in the second spydhot pic u can see that the tyres are too small for an octavia.see the analysis for urself.

Octavia's edged talilight.

Fabia's rounded tailight.

This is how both the lights will look on the car in the spyshot.

i am still convinced it is a Fabia.
