Zen Estillo - Kseries Engine Coming this month!

Maruti Suzuki will launch the facelifted version of the Zen Estilo in the second last week of this month.

The car has already gone through the homologation process sucessfully and Maruti is currently conducting trainings on the new model for aftersales and service.

The facelift adresses the biggest weakness with the Zen Estilo, which essentially is a Wagon-R in different clothes, the styling. The front fascia is completely new with new sharper designed headlamps, new grille and front bumper with round fog lamps.

The biggest change is under the hood which now has Maruti’s latest K-Series engine. Its still not clear if the engine would be the detuned 1.2 Litre unit or the 1.0 Litre unit from the A-Star but we will put our money on the smaller engine.

Awaiting the newly styled Zen Estillo, as we know that Maruti is working on it since sometime now lets hope the results are good.

If the product is styled reasonably not radically read (Ritz & A star) then I personally think that its worth watching, especially if your have a budget constrain.

With a heart transplant with new K-Series Engine it seems to be a worthy competitor. May be it might encroach on lower end of i10 territory.

All will depend on the pricing & off course the restyled looks.
I am keeping my figures crossed

Actually I was to post exactly the opposite. I think that the tag " Zen " has been dropped for good.
Its not all new Zen Estilo, its just all new Estilo. IMHO this was suppossed to be the name of this car from day one as people would not have associated this car ( that is nothing but a wagon R under the skin ) with Zen ( which just in my opinion is one of the great cars ).

Lets hope they have genuinely worked no
1) Looks
2) Handling ( stiffening up the suspension such that handling becomes better ).
3) Gearbox.

Wow! With the K series now plonked into the Estilo and the new WagonR that is in pipeline, its sure gonna be a stable of war horses at Maruti!
The emission norms are indirectly doing good to enthusiasts like us!
What is in store for the Alto to meet the BS-4 norms?

That's a Nice scoop Sid. The headlights looks interesting, hope they have also made changes the wedge like nose of the estilo. I really hated the looks of the earlier one.
Looks like Maruti is going to flood the market with all types of small cars to cover all segments of small car market and notch up its market share.
Its good for all the customers , competitors better look out Maruti's move.

This one is getting the K series Engine right?
I mean are they going to stop at just lifting its face?

Yes, sidindica has mentioned that mostly the three cylinder K series from A-star is plonked into Estilo.
This is a wrong move IMHO. But I am expecting that performance drop will not be high. I had read somewhere that the K10B is 47 kg dry. This I think is lighter than the current F10D. Moreover the output figure is same for power, but what will be missed is the good bottom end of F10D.
