Any change to the estilo will be for the better. Its hard to make it worse
looking at the teaser pics, it looks like the biggest ever facelift in Maruti's history. Actually looks quite nice. Lot of people were comparing estilo with nano, so they have adopted a more elegant i10 approach.

I feel Maruti is confusing buyers more and more So many cars to choose from. All with 20k-30K differences. I hope they launch the premium sedan soon. Enough of small cars for now.

Its true that a new buyer might be confused but its always better to have options rather than none.
Maruti is a market leader and especially in small cars & they know that is what brings it volumes, that why they are going slow on Sedans and fast track on hatches.

well maruti's main funda is to give more options of body type, style and design in same engines which gives buyers more options to choose from, which is why its been market leader for this long time.along with its supported *** across nation and availability of spares.

'Teaser' images taken from teaser video:

A comparison with existing Estilo shows the front over-hangs is more in the new version.

AFAIK, there's no Zxi on offer. Hope I am wrong though 'coz then Maruti-Suzuki will have compromised on ABS and airbags.

Here are some captures from the brochure found at the maruti website -

Captures from the flash file at the new website

The front as a whole does look good though, with a longer bonnet and L shaped wrap around headlamps. Interior looks the same except for the instrument cluster.
Maybe this new face will attract customers for maruti. The best part of this makeover is the new heart transplant it has got.

Looks like Maruti is dropping the "Zen" from the Zen Estilo. I think it's a good idea.

Saw the site http://www.guessthewowcar.com/

I checked the teaser video at and the teaser site GuesstheWOWcar. It has some nice interactive games, crosswords etc. Have entered the contest as well. Check it out.
Does anyone know the launch date?

The present gear shift is just too bad in the estilo. Hope the newer engine comes with better stuff
There's a problem shifting through second and third gears, the long gear lever just wobbles and moves way too much. I have been driving the estilo for quite some time now, made frequent trips to the dealer & service center during the first few weeks, then concluded that this problem was just inherent to the car after test driving other new estilos.

Also what I don't like about the estilo is the high rear seating position. The whole rear seat assembly and footboard is raised on a platform of about 3 inches high, as compared to front seats. This gives a very awkward feeling while sitting at the back IMO. But the rear visibilty is no way affected by this though.

Anyways would definitely expect more fuel efficiency from the newer KB series engine.

This has to be by far the most drastic face lift Maruti has given to any vehicle. Their facelifts usually consist of clear headlight, tail light and some tacky stickers. This one actually looks a lot more decent than the outgoing model.

It absolutely seems promising. It almost like a day dreaming (can somebody pinch me to prove I'm not?)

IMO it's indeed a great facelift.
But I wonder why maruti is advertizing this vehicle as powerfull (in GuesstheWOWcar)?
Since when 68 bhp vehicle turn powerful? (unless MSIL has turned the date 20 years back).
If they are comparing estilo with nano, then estilo will definitely be the "powerful"

Anyway kudos to MSIL for this promising vehicle.

EDIT: People are finding similarities between estilo and i10. Does anybody find any resemblance of the front to that of VW polo? Or it's just me?
