Your Hatch: Diesel or Petrol

We have quite a number of hatch owners in here. A couple of new hatches Jazz and Punto would be launched in the next couple of months and this thread serves as some kind of pointer to what cars team-bhpians own or would be owning.

Have clubbed some of the entry level cars as the poll would look quite big.

You can choose multiple options and that includes a hatch model/s and whether diesel or petrol. Prospective next car owners of Punto and Jazz can choose the option if you intend to buy them.

Please note that you have to choose your car( swift or getz or fabia etc) and Petrol or Diesel.Please select I20 if you own a Getz as i have a strong feeling that there arent many I20 owners ( I missed it

I own a Indica V2 diesel. Very dissatisfied with the niggling problems on the car, as well as Tata service standards. Next hatch would be a Chevrolet Spark.

Petrol it is for me, nothing like a rev-happy petrol engine!
I currently own a petrol hatch (santro). My next car would be a sporty (read performance mod ready) petrol. I am not sure if there are many good petrol hatches in India which can be easily modified to stage 1/2/3. Diesels don't allow for much mods, hence not on my list.
The only good petrol hatch that comes to mind is the swift as of now.
If not for the dismal performance, I think the chevy srv looks really awesome for a hot hatch.
In the war of petrol vs diesel, I would always choose a petrol for tunability and performance. Diesels are for economy - there are diesel performance exceptions like getz crdi, but due to lack of basic safety features like abs and airbags, they are off my list.
If a good tunable petrol hot hatch like civic hatch comes along, I'll be the first to jump on it

Currently own Indica Turbo but waiting for either Punto or Jazz, also liked the interiors of i20 but the car is overpriced.
