Not at all. Its way more difficult to keep my black baleno clean as compared to my old 800 or dad's SX4 (both white). Also, I must say its easiest to maintain the Pearl Silver on Marutis (which was very popular on all Marutis a few years ago). Our pearl silver esteem does not look uncleaned even after standing in dust for more than a couple of days.

Regards.

As far as i know, one of family friend bought swift diesel, white color , though he had other color in mind, He took this white, since the dealer said it is easily available ready stock. So he took white.

Also , other case, one of my relative have gone to an maruti dealer in coimbatore, they said dzire has long waiting period, but if its white, its ready on hand..But they said no, and needed their favourite color only.

so swift white is readily available, i think so.

Maybe Dupont has a large stock of white paint and selling it to Maruti at a discount. Manufacturers will go to any extent to cut costs. This also explains the easy availability of white Swifts & Dzires compared to other colours.

Apart from the reason that IMO the swift looks really cool in white, esp. with good alloys, white also commands the highest resale value.

To some extent, it will help in beating the heat; the aircon will perform better than that in a black car, and after yellow, it probably also has the best visibility in the dark, so fewer chances of someone crashing into you.

Dust shows up a lot more on a darker car than on a lighter coloured one and that could be another reason.

BRAINWAVE: All petrolheads refer to their cars as their babies/babes. Being Indian, we all want fair kids/chicks, so when we can buy, we buy white!
+1 vikram

Surely our inherent 'dark' desires control our so called 'fair' decisions...

I think when the swift was launched in India,it was not offered in a white color as the big wigs thought the white was too plain a color.
Later on when they did decide to introduce it many people decide to go
for it as white was new for the swift.
Anyways the car looks real good in white especially with nice tinted glasses and black alloys.

I am not sure why but i think its a valid question. Today when i was driving to office, i saw not less than FOUR WHITE SWIFTS ahead of me on the road !! so there is something going on with these white swifts for sure.

White + Silver are the most popular colours in India, across all cars. Sums it up?

Well GTO very much agreed to the fact that, White + Silver are the most popular colours in India but when it comes to Swift in comparison to all other hatches its white which rules the chart by big no's, infact even Silver doesn't come any close in the case of Swift which is again the second best selling colour in country.

Maybe it's got something to do with the Swift looking simply awesome in white! And Maruti may be making more of them in white?

Spot on GTO. The swift does look handsome in white. I'm planning to buy a new car in a year or so and most probably it'll be a swift and in white.

My color choices in order of preference for the swift :

1. White

2. Copper red (or whatever the correct naming convention by MUL is).

3. Black
