I sat in a Lexus only once. was a chauffeur driven one and it was in Dubai. I think it was a GS (didn't really have the time to check what car it was.. terribly drunk!), but from the size of it I think it was a GS. I got blown away by the luxuries on offer. Inspite of being in a state where I wouldn't have expected to remember so much, the stuff was too good to forget! If I were to compare it to a BMW 5 (the same range so to say), the luxuries inside were miles ahead of the BMW! I haven't driven the Lexus, but I'm sure for anyone who wants to drive the BMW would be the obvious choice. But if you are going to be chauffeured around, the Lexus is ultimate!

True, which is why we all come here. :)
Anybody remember Harshad Mehta? I first heard of Lexus when the stock market controversy due to late Mr. Mehta raged Indian economy; Mr. Mehta used to travel in a Lexus.
frankly speaking i dont like any of these new gen lexus designs. hate them all...
The 1st Gen RX 300 was so awsome looking, the second is a bit okay but this third generation is a disaster..
same goes for the GS.. first and second were awsome but the third one is not that great.
I feel the new gen toyota ( some of them) are okayish but the design theme of new toyota's and lexus alotgether are as ugly or more uglier than the highly criticised Bangle designs..
ALthough the real BANGLE is no more at BMW.. but i think there is some Asian Bangle hiding somewhere in the design studios of Toyota and Lexus in Japan :)....
The rx also do well. For lexus to be successful in india every model should have a diesel variant.
OT:does the prado have a diesel variant in india ?

Very nice pics....the RX somehow reminds me of the CR-V. It will sell well in India IMO. How much is it priced at?
Btw, no pics of the ISF? :(
The Lexus all share a very srong family look, which isnt all that bad.Yeah Toyota has to thank Harshad Mehta who had made Lexus pretty infamous. But also bollywood played its part in promoting the brand.

These were the only cars displayed in the Toyota Exhibition.. Its open everyday for public to take a look at it , sit inside and take pictures.
where is this toyota exhibhition? i dont think this looks like INdia
Those pictures are taken in Tokyo.
Launching Lexus would bring in added competition to the hot Indian Luxury market. We are already abuzz with the possibility of the JLR coming over, with Lexus in Indians are going to be spoilt for choice.
Its been a dream to own these cars in the country, the biggest grudge that I have so far is not being able to lay my hands on one so far. Am sure I will be in the running to convert one of my cars to a Lexus. Target 2010 :D

Toyota finally bringing Lexus to India. But not before 2013. Over a year needed to set up dedicated Lexus dealers.

Good news for people waiting for Lexus to officially enter the Indian shores.
Do you think Lexus will be able to compete with the likes of Audi, Bmw and Mercedes, considering that mostly their cars will be a CBU?
