Huh? 1.4? Then why does Autocar state this?

Quote:
With the induction of the CRDi motor from the Verna, Hyundai has responded to both the needs.

The vicious 1.5 CRDi motor from the Verna is a complete scorcher zipping from 0 - 100 in 11.23 seconds. When it was dropped into the smaller Getz felt like it was on steroids. It's not disappointing in the fuel efficiency stakes either. The Getz CRDi returns 12.6 kmpl in the city and 16.2kmpl out on the highway. The new i20 CRDi should deliver strongly on both counts.
Maybe I've still not lost hope that that rabid Verna engine has, after all, gone into the i20

That is not how you should look at it. Honda Jazz top end does not have many of the features that i20 offers (to the tune of items worth 50K) and still sell way above a diesel i20 having a much more equipments.

BTW, I never thought my guess of the price would be so accurate. i20 CRDI top end for around 8.3L OTR Bangalore! I thought they might price within that. They even crossed that!! Let's see how it sells, that too so many diesel competitions now.

....
I am looking at the i20 AT model and comparing to ANHC AT, not Jazz. I dont bother about CRDi as its not of interest to me. I know what features i20 offers as I own an Asta 1.2 model. 1.4L petrol is definitely not VFM considering a price difference of about 2 lacs with the 1.2L model.

You failed to see my point. My point was that Honda still prices way too high, not comparable to even the i20 price which is already high. If you don't care about the CRDI, take it this way: Honda Jazz 1.2L manual top end priced almost same as the i20 1.4L AT. Jazz 1.2L manual topped up with equivalent equipment as i20 Asta(O) will cost more than 1.4L i20 AT. Hope you get this time.
