I am also waiting for 1.4 Petrol AT to TD and decide on booking.

Showrooms here in Bangalore are taking bookings for 1.4 Petrol AT and promise delivery in 6-8 weeks.

You can take this with a bucket load of salt - I was told by the local dealer here that the 1.4 AT would give around 10 kmpl in the city. He also said that i10 1.2 AT gives around 12 kmpl.

At this rate, Hyundai should offer part time job to 1.4 AT owners to keep this car like thing running !

How to track a hyundai booking

I have booked a Silver CRDi i20 last week. The sales guy says he has no clues on the ETA and it could be anywhere about 1.5 weeks. Now, 1 week in to this waiting period, I am feeling the process as non transparent. Other than a receipt, I dont have any control. What stops a dealer from alloting a car (may be one alloted to me) to somebody else at a premium?? There seems to be no way to track the booking to car dispatch in Hyundai. Is it the same with other manufacturers... Any clues on how to not get cheated??....

One correction, waiting time is 1.5 months not 1.5 weeks

This is the only factor which is holding us back from booking one immediately. The i10 figures are making me very nervous. Also, the 1.4 engine is unknown to us. Damn.

i20 Diesel will obviously record low sales like Skoda's Fabia.....
Indian buyer would prefer to get bigger wen pay higher, Verna would be a great car to go for than a i20

sir, if i20 1.2kappa engine could sell at the price range of diesel dzire, then why cant i20 crdi sell, people now wants a hatchback fully loaded and all features available in a sedan in small cars.

By the way, Zigwheels claims in it's ET suppliment that the 4-speed A/T in the i20 is an all-new one, although it does have the now-familiar OD lock switch. It even goes on to explicitly mention that the tranny unit is different from the one on the i10. Does this translate to some hope over better FE figures on the i20? UK websites claim very high mpg figures for the i20 1.4 Auto. Even if you factor in the Indian driving conditions, logically there's no reason why the FE figures should be dismal.

Just thinking aloud.

Any one know if the manual version of the 1.4L i20 will be coming any time soon?

I'm a little pissed off with HMP, they promised a TD of the CRDi today and the car was nowhere to be seen. Anyway I was more interested in the 1.2 and 1.4 A/T, one of which I'm going to pick. The A/T display car was there, I was very impressed with the fit and finish as well as the quality of everything in the interiors, except for maybe the tacky chrome on the gear shifter (M/T). Test drove the M/T, and honestly I doubt I'm going to need any more power than what the 1.2 has to offer. Sure, I'd love the 1.4 A/T but it's going to be a tough task convincing the family, especially after the disastrous FE figures of the i10 A/T.

In case anyone's interested in prices, the 1.2 M/T is 6.59L and the 1.4 A/T is 8.5L, both prices being for the Asta (Non-O) OTR Mumbai.

No discounts whatsoever, but I'm still hoping to push for a loyalty discount as a repeat Hyundai customer.
