Dealers in Mumbai have confirmed July Launch. Test Drive Vehicles should reach by 1st week. 3 variants as in petrol with a price difference of around 80K.

The starting price is the big question mark not the Price difference b/w models. Anybody who has the getz pricing. Assuming it starts well above what getz started off initially, would the prices be steep.

July 1st week sounds too good to be true.

Nice choice of good Diesel hatchbacks for the Indian consumer which was unheard of 5 years back.

The GETZ diesel is priced around 1.4 lakh more than its like equipped Petrol 1.3 model (GVS).

So I dont think the i20 will fare any better in pricing terms. Fingers crossed, let's hope for a good price.

Looking at i20 Petrol prices, if we have to believe what the dealer says the pricing for i20 Crdi Magna will be 5.8L , Asta - 6.7L & Asta(O) will be 7.1L Ex-Showroom Mumbai. i20 Crdi Magna's price will be the old Getz Crdi's price. This is Rs.60k More than present Getz Crdi Price.

Its confirmed that the car is coming with a 90Bhp engine. It should be here mid-end July. 1st week of July us not possible, since not even the sales training has started

I booked a TD for the i20 on the Hyundai website. Got a call within 2 hours asking for my details and where I would like the TD. Gave them the details and they told me to expect a call from the dealer within 48 hours. I also asked him about the diesel i20 and was told not before November / December. This was Thursday 5 pm.

Saturday - 2 pm - I get a call from Sharayu Hyundai and I ask them to come on Monday afternoon. Then I ask him about the impending diesel i20 launch and he also replied November / December.

But both the Hyundai guy and the Sharayu guy were a bit uncomfortable answering my questions on the diesel which makes me believe that the diesel is coming before September definitely.

The Getz CRDi is on offer at INR 4.99 ex-showroom. That IMHO is a sure shot indicator of the i20 deisel waiting in the wings

Let's see what price point it comes at. A 90 BHP machine would surely be a winner.

Cheers

I had called up a Hyundai dealer on 26th, enquiring the price of Getz Crdi and they informed me that the offer is closed. It was only till 25th and the pricing is now back to old one.

I took a test drive of the i20 last week and was floored with the quality of the car. I did find the performance to be a bit insipid, but coming from a 5 year Santro, it will suffice. I was tempted, especially with the exchange offers that Hyundai currently has on, but then the sales lady delivered a couple of shockers

- there is a 2 month waiting period for the i20. That was a total surprise especially considering that it is hardly selling in any significant numbers. Is this due to the production problems that Hyundai is having?
- The exchange offer is not valid for i20. In addition, there are no discounts of any kind on the i20 (corporate, loyalty bonus etc). Is this just a dealer quirk or are other dealers in Bangalore giving the same message?

@ Jagan, the quoted wait period is only due to export orders.

Yes. It took about 7 weeks for my car to be delivered. They are focusing more on exports as of now and unable to meet the demand. Hence there are delays in local delivery, especially for the Asta trim with airbags. I think Magna should be available in a couple of weeks.

Jagan, I asked at the local Hyundai dealer here in Siliguri and yes, there is no discount and/or exchange for the i20 - they said as it was a new model.
