Completely agree. Also don't forget the AT gearbox itself. All the Sonata, Verna and i10 AT gearboxes are just sufficient to do the job but feel as if they sap lot of engine performance (Source: I own an i10 Asta AT and have experienced Sonata AT in a friends car. The verna AT feedback was lackluster from various carmags reviews).

Taking a closer look, the Magna CRDi seems to be the better choice and most VFM considering the ABS/EBD. Still it is nothing compared to the value benefits of Getz CRDi after the discount. I regret not going for the Getz CRdi and now I don't think I would get one.

2 of the 4 hyundai dealers in Kolkata just told me i20 will launch in 2 months time!!

I told them to check Hyundai's website for details.

These kind of premium prcing for a Hyundai hatch and that too in a price conscious market like India in recessionary times.
Hope Hyundai is not shooting themselves in their own foot...

Wow, unbelievable pricing on the CRDI by Hyundai. They also disappointed by not launching the 1.4 in Manual transmission version. I think I am going to go for the 1.2 petrol, despite the fact that I feel it is underpowered.

Hyundai has highly disappointed me with their pricing. i20 was the VFM car and now only car remains! Is keeping ABS on magna is some kind of indication at its thought process? Hyundai seem to throw a carrot in case ppl are not going to buy Asta at 8L +

Really disappointed after eagerly waiting for CRDi....

I asked several questions.

Q. Is there a chance of Diesel AT for i20 ?
A. Yes, in the future, however the pricing may be something we may need to consider.

Q. FE of i10 AT has been reported quite low by the users, how good is i20 going to be ?
A. i10 is good in terms of FE with Gamma engine in i20 this is going to be even better here, if there are specific cases of low FE in i10 users, let us know, we will look into them

Q. Fortuner coming, Endy revamped coming, any plans of Santa Fe.
A. Plans are there, but you can see the car only by next year.

Q. Small car, even smaller than Santro, any movement on that ?
A. We are still evaluating, no timelines as of now

Q. Swift is 1.5 L cheaper than i20 Diesel, how will you beat it ?
A. Better value for i20, ABS is standard here. Customers will realise and buy the product.

Although the wheel base of the Punto & i20 are longer than the Vista I am some how not quite satisfied with the rear leg room that both these cars offer, especially when the front seats are completely pushed behind.
What's the G8 point in having a so called bigger (biggest) boot in a hatch back? If I wanted a boot, I would have taken a 3 box car with a separate boot in the 1st place.
This is just my observation & is no way intended to start a debate.

the 1.4 gamma engine is a scaled down version of the new elantra (avante) engine and has continuous variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust valves, dual VTVT all aluminium. Actually I have driven a car-I 30 which comes with this as a base engine in brussels last year and it is one of the smoothest petrols hyundai has come out with in recent times. But it would have been better if it came with 5-speed automaic as the I 30. Of course, the I 30 and elantra are also available with a 2.0 version of this gamma engine. The engine in the verna is a beta unit, a bit heavy and old design.
