Awesome Sidindica! Any pricing / date related info? Also, does it have Air conditioning or Climate Control? The UK model only has AC, and given that the City too doesn't have Climate control, I am very doubtful, but hopeful!

1 variant...I really feel this is marketing for the ANHC
Surprising there isn't an Automatic offered

p.s. Why is this a separate topic?

Any idea if they have put additional wheel in the boot or is it dual storage like EU models?

Nothing extraordinary in the specs. But price surely will be extraordinary.
Should be taken with a pinch of salt.

He has mentioned already Manual AC.
So the hopes are slashed as of now!

honestly Abhinav i can't see any amazing specs here. Aren't we getting more features and better specs in some other vehicles(no bashing just my opinion).
And to top it am sure it will be pricey than those ones

Nice job again Sid.

Features maybe, but specs???

Honestly which hatchback in India has 90 ps engine with a 1.2 ltr i-vtech heart. Let alone hatchback, even likes of SX4 dont get the vtech head in Indian models only, let alone i-vtech. Top that with class leading space/practicality, honda resale, honda snob value, honda maintainence cost and you have all recipies of success, which would more than warrant the initial high price howsoever much we personally might dislike it.

Now features itself dont make a car, else you would have seen the likes of SX4 setting the sales alight in their segment or Chevy Optra taking C+ segment by a ride. Its the combination of brand, car, safety with features being the icing on the cake. Honda has not been providing the icing on its models, but the pudding itself is good.

Lets take for eg its nearest competitors, i20.

Engine: i20 Sluggish and boring
Engine: Jazz Frugal and peppiest in its segmet. Even puts likes of Linea to waters

An i20 wih airbags (Asta) is 5.6 lakhs ex-showroom. In addition to Jazz, you get a load of features that are nice to have but not a must have, of course one would love alloys, but thats another story.

What i20 lacks though are must haves and cant be bought aftermarket, poor engine for its size, less room for rear seat passengers, poor quality audio. Jazz with aftermarket alloys is quite a match for i20 plus one better having a good engine.

So if Hyundai can sell an 80 ps car with engine of i10 for 5.6 lakhs, I am sure Honda can demand 6.5 and get away with it.

Next competitor, Fabia...... considering Skoda A.S.S and the sales figure of this car, along with some aggragarian engine options, do I even need to waste my energies writing a comparison.

mail4ajo, add alloys to the list

Edit:

Aseem it is about the Indian customer accepting a hatch in the range of 7L. People have certainly not accepted the price on the i20 and with the Jazz being even more expensive makes us think if it will be denied too.

And nothing so great offered anyway, just creature comforts with alloys and electric mirrors left out.

Competitors like the GP will offer that too so it's just space and the engine that is being offered. As for i20 engine, it is enough for the common man like every other engine. Understand what a minority people like bhp'ians and other enthusiasts are. i20 has bombed, even with hyjndai resale and hyundai A.S.S so yea..

The 1200 cc is for tax/exise benefits or was it to be like that originally? Nice thread title Sid.
