HONDA JAZZ Specs : Sometimes, we have to pay to be (jazz)y in our country

7 lacs ex-showroom, I guess Delhi will take it closer to 8L and above OTR in places like Bangalore where taxes are on the higher side. This is much higher than the Fiestas, SX4s and other c segment sedans. If there ever is a 1.5 ivtech version, it would be atleast upwards of 50k more, taking the price closer to a premium sedan. Do you guys think the Jazz would ever sell in India? We never know with a Honda though!! But I hope Honda burns its fingers with this Rash pricing strategy.

Yes, Honda should burn their fingers, so after that, they will price every car realistically.

Right now, they are just looting Indians, by charging hefty premium, for the cars having no premium features. (well, no doubt about Honda's quality, but they are charging too high.)

I had registered for a test drive and got a call from Olympia Honda. They said the launch is on Jun 10th and the expected price is 6.5-7L ex showroom for the single variant that will be offered.

This is perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated cars in India. I am sure Honda has worked hard to get a reasonable amount of localisation in to it so that they can make some money on it here. It will sell, its a Honda and so eagerly anticipated. Just how many is yet to be seen. My guess is 3000+ in its honeymoon period and then it will settle into the 1500 to 2000 cars bracket. Thats when they will start getting in the stripped down versions to make the numbers. Any takers for this theory?

Do u think the jazz will cannabalise city sales or the other way around?
Essentially i think it will only appeal to people who wants the Honda brand and a City without a boot.

Lots of people buy Honda city for the marvellous 1.5 VTEC engine. We dont have a great engine in Jazz. It is just a small 1.2 VTEC. Going by the specs, the engine does not seem like a scorcher.

90PS looks good in spec. which is more than my esteem.

Saving money on adverts or so?

They have given links to Autocar and Overdrive; so does this mean review on these magazines will be baised?

AS per my experience with these mags- they are always biased!
Thats why i don't read them anymore and just read T-bhp reviews

I am feeling a bit sceptical about the torque figures. Just from the figures, will the torque be sufficient in stop-go traffic at full load?

Don't the swift and A-star and the Ritz have similar or comparable torque figures? 113 NM at 4500 RPM is the swift petrol's and Ritz Petrol's torque numbers, the i10 and i20 1.2 clock 110NM at 4000 RPM...

I would rather wait for a TD from T-BHP. At least the reviews on ACI were based on a UK TD. The engines as well as the suspension setup for India would definitely be tuned for local conditions.

Hey, Sid. How about a TD before the official launch?
