Right! 8.25 is really ridiculous price for this car, my friend bought a brand new NHC GXi for 8.30L last year! NHC was a much better car as an overall package. Guess, JAZZ is out from my list

Honda thinks they can get away with anything in the market, first the civic which I own and believe me there are flaws in the car 1. being low ground clearance 2. biggest one is the side pillar on both sides, you are scared on bends and it is a big blind spot, someday you will land up into someone.

I have seen the Jazz in Dubai, it does not look great as well, maybe cos I saw it in Dubai.. I agree with others the mileage reporting sounds in an ideal driving condition that also skeptical.

They think cos of the H badge they can charge & sell anything, I'm afraid that is not correct, having said that it is also true that they are beating the competition hands down in almost all the segments.

Cheers,

The dealer told me it is 7.5 L on road. If it is 7.5 Ex showroom, then it is preposterous of Honda to even think there will be takers for it. Anyways, I am gonna atleast test drive.

7.52L starting is ex-showroom price in Bangalore[/quote]

It has to be 7.5 OTR. Even Honda can't be that ignorant of the market. They should be able to move 2000-2500 units a month at that price. Units will drop drastically beyond 7.5 OTR.

But there is a big difference - one is a Honda and other is a Hyundai. One is a genuine car manufacturer and other is a copy king.

You my friend have to go a long long way to understand how the automobile industry works.

That comment is totally baseless.

Sorry for the OT folks.

This is one crazy price - Honda is being too optimistic I think. I would rather buy the City. If I need to buy a hatch, I would rather buy I20 - which is almost as reliable as Honda and boasts of much better service.

I didn't say who is genuine and who is copier. But one who understands how the automobile industry worked so far, knows it.

I called up Whitefield Honda and was told 8.4L on road for the Jazz. Goodness me, does Honda think I am so dumb to buy it. Agreed I love Honda cars and the engine, but I would gladly pay a lakh more and get a City.

Or is the guy totally misinformed?

While brand does matter, I don't think that it justifies a 2 lacs difference. For a car that competes with the i20 internationally and is only marginally expensive with a full feature list in other markets, the Jazz is not even "well" specced here. I think you've misunderstood Spitfire's comments.

The new crop of Hyundai cars - i10, i20 and i30 are not copies. Hyundai has left that past behind.

Americans say Jap cars are cheap and reliable. Indians say Jap cars are reliable but not cheap. Why so much of discrepency for the worlds largest car market and worlds fastest growing car market?

Why Honda why? With the exception of the Suzuki, all other Japanese cars are 'over Priced". WIth this kind of a Pricing, Honda has created a market for their micro car* which will be competetively priced and will compete with the Nano and other ULCC cars

* = 3.85 lakh ex factory price at Noida for the base non ac model.
