IMO i don't see much of a resemblance at all , only resemblance is that both happen to be large hatchback . Then going by your logic then even the BMW 3 series resembles a Mercedes c class as in both have 4 doors , BMW has a boot like a MERC.

coming to resemblance, the new Honda city rear resembles more to a BMW 3 series than resemblance between 2 cars that u have quoted.

Romeo, next you would be saying the Fabia is also a copy of the 1 series! coz they have similar tail lamps!

All cars are similar in one way or the other to each other, its the basic shape, few cars with radical shapes could be called total different.

Spoke to the salesperson at Solitaire Honda in Mumbai today. He confirms the single variant and said that the OTR Mumbai price would be somewhere around Rs 7L to7.5L. Definitely quite an amount for a 1.2 vtec engine.

I had seen the car in Singapore and have to say that it looks gorgeous, though a little MPVish. Had seen a black customised version as well!

Bookings have started, and the booking amount is 50k.

And here is a small little fact - He says that he already has about 8 bookings . How could I forget that it is a Honda!

8.4 L OTR for a 1.2L hatch, that confirms to small car tax exemptions?

Well the car (especially in this shade) looks quite unconventional but is definately not a looker. And Honda does it again!! No alloy rims for a premium hatch! And the wheel caps are shared with the City!!
This car has a huuuuuge glass area, hope it has a competent Aircon, or owners be ready to spend some considerable amount on sun-films.

At around above 8 lakhs, someone please give me some good reasons why would not a potential buyer head towards the more interesting City instead??!

Edit- I see missing fogs too!! At this price why does it have to be so under-equipped!?

Against the prevailing sentiment I would say that I do agree with you there.

The body lines and the curvature definitely seems inspired ( if not copied)
the curves on the boot and the overall flow of the car are also very very similar.
while hyundai may not be thrusting out carbon copies these days, old habits do die hard!

/ my two cents!

Honda has not learnt anything from the CIVIC HYBRID. At least the Civic Hybrid has some snob value to it (the green car). This has nothing. My feeling is that the sales numbers will cool off pretty soon as more options hit the market.

I would rather wait for the Volkswagon Polo or Polo GTI. If all falls in place and if they keep the promise of launching the version as mentioned then it will be the best buy in this segment, I will not mind to pay for a supercharger with turbo. See and read below.

The eco-stars, though, are the Bluemotion, with its 1.2-litre 75bhp three-cylinder turbodiesel plus long gearing, optimised aerodynamics, regenerative braking and an extraordinary 87g/km CO2 score, and the petrol 1.2 TSI (pictured below) with a turbocharger, 104bhp and a 129g/km CO2 count. At the other extreme, a Polo GTI is promised for next year with a 168bhp version of Volkswagen's 1.4-litre Twincharger engine featuring both a supercharger and a turbo.

Eh, doesn't this look like a mini Innova? Not a typical looking hatch by any means. And Congrats Honda on that record breaking front quarter glass.

Reading this comment, please don't think that I'm with Honda on this sky-high pricing. I always stick to the VFM factor. But this value consists the 'brand value' also.

Yes, glipses of Innova and U-VA (rear).

BTW, the 'A' pillar unit will not obstruct the driver's view too much, because they are 'far away' from the driver.

Ya thats all i can do as of now.
8+ lac for this hatch. Amazing!
And i know looks are subjective but i20 and Punto are far far better looking than this JAZZ.

8 bookings already, interesting. People are ready to be fooled again

P.s- Honda atleast give alloys and fogs for that price.

Wow. That's one huge glass area. Car does not look exciting, but seems decent enough. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh soon.

come to think of it
the NHC - IDSI used to sell in the 7-8 lakhs range

this iteration of JAZZ should definetly have the same interior space as the NHC since the platform is the same.

so essentially what you get is the same car minus boot + more power ful engine + safety features .

probably this is what HONDA was thinking while fixing the pricing.

but they need to be cognisant of the competition too
