Is this car UGLY, or what else can i say?.I didn't get a chance to check out the K12 engine. Both displays i saw were diesels.

I had a look at it in flesh! Sai service had dark blue ZXI on display, I didn't like the looks much. Swift looks better and not having ZDI is definitely deal breaker for me. Waiting for GP now.

Nope. The Ritz is engine is < 1200 CC and therefore 8% less excise duty compared to Swift's 1300 CC engine.

However given the fact that they share the DDIS engine, its a tough one to price Petrol cheaper than the Swift, while the diesel would be at par. They have played safe in saying both are in the premium segment.

Front is swiftish, rear is tad ugly and i didn't liked the interiors either. For me Swift still rules in looks department in the Maruti stable and is a better choice anyday.

Interior finish and backside looks really ugly. Really don't know if it is going to capture the market of Swift or not.

i don't understand MUL's logic of launching yet another hatch that is so similar to Swift in looks and price points. Is it just to confuse the buyer with many choices because of impending launch of GP and Jazz? A bit like TOI started another daily (MM) in Mumbai when HT and DNA were getting launched?!

i found the following on the ritz website. on the flash thingie of the interior when you click on the hotspot. the following blurb pops up :

the ritz relatively offers a High Roof Line, which allows plenty of cabin height and high seat positions, thereby giving you more leg space and roomy, comfortable interior environment with good visibility for safer driving.

is it just my interpretation of the above that is wrong or is that just a load of guano ??

because i don't see how "a high roof line which allows plenty of cabin height gives me more leg space", unless of course, i intend to hang upside down like a bat.

p.s.
which would be kind of neat, because there would be no need for seats. just hooks on the roof to hang from. and think of all the space liberated by dispensing with the seats. driving it would be difficult though.

Suzuki has just copied i10 and put it on Swift. Ritz should be called "Swift i10"

Thats a load of crap. If this is done just because of swift, then there is no problem of headroom in the swift.

As for visibility, like swift there are blind spots(I drive one every day), I sat in the ritz and it has the similar blind spots, so visibility isn't great, just marketing bs

Notice how the gear knob is in the same place as i10.

I think what they're trying to say is that the design is a tall-boy design, and so the seating posture requires lower amount of knee/leg-space (like Santro). This has also been stated by ACI.
