Considering that the Getz CRdi was barely avaliable for test drive and display at various dealerships for a very long time, how did Hyundai manage to build up stocks?

Ex- showroom (Delhi) - 5.45 lacs(same as before)

Loyalty bonus / Exchange scheme etc - Rs 20000
Insurance - Rs 16000

So they are showing it as 5.09 Ex showroom after deducting the above two (Rs 36000).

Note : 5.09 lacs is with a big (*) which means a lot of terms and conditions are involved. Hardly a few customers would qualify as per that.

Buttttt still it would only be 5.5 lacs on road. Steal deal IMO.

Getz CRDi production is still on and they mostly supply on demand basis so, this can't be just a stock clearance.
At the moment, expecting i20 CRDi in 2009 is just like hoping against hope. Few months back it was confirmed for a June/july launch.

Does the little birdie say anything about a i20 CRDi launch?

Precisely my point. Unless the i20 crdi is a 1.4 79hp motor, Getz CRdi should be on sale at a lower price point just like accent to Accent verna.

Priced at 5.36L on-road Haryana, makes a hell of a lot of sense in my book!

I own a swift and i feel that getz at this price is very good value,if getz was available with ABS i would never have bought swift,i can live with less than perfect handling but a crashy ride and a rattly interior is strictly no no for me.

I feel the grande punto is making other car makers nervous, actually all the hatch's that are to launch. If the Jazz gives a great mileage why would you buy a old outdated (however good) model of a car as Getz, even if it is a CRDI

Think this way,
Swift Vs Getz
With recent discounts, Getz CRDI matches the Swift VDI's price tag (+-10k) and is still much more powerful with almost 0 waiting period. Its more roomy than the Swift. Looks are subjective. Interiors of Getz if not better are on par with the Swift.

Jazz vs Getz
Does more than double the torgue of the Jazz ring a bell.
Its no doubt outdated today but look at what the competition has to offer other than being new. The Jazz still will be more than a lak than the Getz CRDI.
But the real compititor for the Jazz is not the Getz. Its the I20. Feature on Feature other than the engine, the I20 wins hand down inside the cabin.

Jazz vs GP
About the jazz, a lot would depend on the GP pricing too. jazz will take away some sales from the 1.4 Gp but not from the 1.3 diesel. But as everyone believes, the Jazz will still be a hit for sure unless Honda decide to price it the Fabia way.

We have seen people people spend close to a lakh to turbo a Swift petrol and it still does not match up to the Getz crdi. Dont forget the factory reliability part.
In short, if you want a FAST hatch, the Getz CRDI is for you. It being outdated and not so great or old interiors will not bother you when you zoom past others with a big smile.
Not sure, but won't a Peted GEtz Crdi match the RS in a straight line.

I don't think there are stocks of the vehicle anywhere. At trident i was told that the vehicle is manufactured on demand. So 5.09 for a new piece, that is a great price

If they plonk the getz engine in the i20, then with all its features, i20 diesel will be the best hatch in India. Any price updates in Bangalore. The price is mouth watering.

Traction problem !
Also, the gearshifts need to be very precise else u will end up hitting a ton in 10+ secs.

The i20 Asta would be a MUST buy then. I would pick it over the Fiat Grande Punto anyday! But, will Hyundai do that? From what we know, they are going to put in a 1.4L 74bhp engine in which case Fiat, with it's better steering and suspension set up, would be a better buy then the i20.

KA fellow Bhp-ians, any idea of the On road price of the Getz now and the discounts being offered?
My best friend is ditchin his Indica Xeta for a new car. I suggested him to TD the Getz Diesel.
Today, we both took it for a short spin. My best friend was sold to the pocket rocket in under 10 seconds flat.
The on road price in Belgaum is approx 6.5L and a discount of 25K is being offered. Is this deal worthwhile?
