there is an ad by hyundai in the Delhi supplement for times of India (delhi times) on the last page, advertising that this special offer (4.99 lacs for getz crdi) is only till 15th of june.
hyundai trying to steal punto's thunder?
or desperately trying to get some sales numbers?
or trying to hit two birds with one stone?

They are just trying to induce buyers to commit to a hasty buy without a look at the competition (read Punto). I am pretty sure Hyundai will keep this offer going after the 15th as well.

Went to KUN Hyundai at Anna nagar 2nd avenue ( Chennai ) . They did not have any Getz on display ( Leave alone a CRDi ) . I asked for some Getz brochures and they did not even have the brochures either. Anyway, had a look at the i20. Was very pleased. If only it had a bigger engine.

After buying GETZ CRDi please drive carefully, its a rocket and if you are not careful you might fly to heaven!

I have the 1,3 petrol version and my friend has the diesel. Sometimes when we go together (say to the 43 km drive to the airport to pickup half a dozen people), his car beats me heads down with ease and he does it everytime and later gives me a look

to make me feel jealous.

And you all know 1.3 is not a bad performer!

DSC has a Getz petrol on display. I don't think a CRDi is available for test (HMP maybe?). Planning for one??

. )as she is dead against hatchbacks. She is all for the Laura hatchback though which is above my budget.

The Laura hatchback reaches 100kmph in about

8.4 seconds according to leading car mags and some websites which then becomes the fastest hatchback in the country. The Getz does it in about 11 seconds. The new Laura is faster than the OctaviaRS. The present Laura comes with a 160/140bhp for petrol/diesel engine according to the brochure. The Getz is no competition for the Laura in any department except probably fuel efficiency and definitely A.S.S

I think JayD meant the 105 hp Laura diesel which is also sold alongside the new engines in the facelifted Laura.

Can anyone please confirm, from which date (exact) the CRDi was offered at 4.99L (ex-showroom) in Bangalore.

My friend got the delivery on 2nd June (here in Belgaum) for 6.2L OTR.
Can anything be done now?

Is the prevailing price considered as on the booking date or the date of full payment?

If I remember right, it was on the afternoon of 3rd, at least in Madras. The earliest confirmation that someone in Bangalore posted here was on the 4th. Not sure what can be done now, that was a bummer

The new Laura is quick. But even the old 105 hp diesel is quicker than the power-to-weight would suggest. Reason? That DSG gearbox! It makes maximum use of the engines power.
