On Saturday morning, I was driving along the East Coast Road towards Madras and I saw a new Mitsubishi being tested. I don't have a digicam so sorry no photos :-(

Was a sedan, all black, looked slightly shorter than the Lancer, had no name badge except for the Mitsubishi logo, and had red TN-20-TC plates. TN 20 is the RTO for Tiruvallur where HM's plant is located.

Will try to find an appropriate photo on the Net and post the link. Any ideas meanwhile?

Mitsubishis future in India is not the question, mitsubishis future at all is the question. During my time in US this year in February, I heard on radio that Mitsubishi might be going bankrupt in America and they are offering huge discounts there. So this might be another daewoo story... or I maybe wrong???

Nope the case is improving a lot .

Europe, Australia south east and USA are the major improving markets for mitsubishi. Infact mitsu's sales in Australia beat Honda.

In india the new lancer certainly has the capability to beat the corolla and compete with the RS( 1100KG 125 bhp 2000cc manual). It is certainly gonna be a hit if it comes with 16inch wheels and wrc spoiler and leather interiors for sfxi at 10lacs.

Mitsubishi is looking to introduce the pajero at around 15lacs(website says already launched) the mitsubishi carisma for 11-13 lacs. lancer cedia for 8-10 lacs. The old lancer will be priced at 6-8 lacs.
