I tried to calculate on the prices given by the UK site, seems like they would price the 1.8 TSI around 13.5 - 14.5L ex showroom Delhi.
But I may be wrong as I tried calculating using Superb price and the closest feature set to Indian Laura.

The New Skoda Laura

The New Website is Up n' Running...

Skoda Laura

My oh my, they have given a superb facelift to this new baby...

More or less all the features are from the New Superb...

Woh they have given an excellent package they just need to have right pricing, as the segments of pricing between laura n' superb should not clash or be thin... I hope...

Goldie.

The 1.8 TSI Laura with a 6 speed manual transmission should be an amazing car to have like the Octavia RS. The only issue on getting one of these will be the SKODA's bad A.S.S.

Autocar specifies the price range 12.7 to 17.6L ex showroom. That means the petrol will be available on Bangy for around 15L.

A first drive is also there in Autocar site.0-100 at 8.1 secs. This is one hot car. If only SKoda has improved the reliability and pricing of spares

Skoda India has launched the facelifted version of the popular Laura in the Indian market. The new Laura will come with three engine options which includes a petrol and two diesels.

The petrol engine is the 1.8 Litre TSi turbocharged unit with 160 bhp and 250 nm of torque which debutted in the recently launched Skoda Superb. The petrol motor is mated to a 6-Speed manual transmission while diesel comes with either a 5-Speed manual or the optional 6-Speed DSG with Tiptronic manual gear change.

The new Laura is loaded with comfort features like 12-Way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, heated front seats, Skoda entertainment system operated via a 6.5 inch TFT touchscreen with an integrated 6-CD changer and twelve speakers, Audio controls on the steering wheel, dual zone climate control, adjustable rear airconditioning vents, leather upholstery, retractable rear windscreen blind and electrically foldable external mirrors.

Other Laura virtues also remain like the huge 560 litres luggage space and storage space all around including on the arm rests.

Good pricing!

The pricing of the petrol motor (that too a turbo charged TFSI) seems bang on target (12.5 ex. showroom), but why poor alloys, thinner tyres and indian rubber? IMO the price difference of almost 5 lacs between two extreme models will make Petrol Laura sell in bigger quantities (than what happened with Octavia by pricing them equally). As I can see, the quality of interiors and level of equipments is same on 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TDI PD motors, that's one good thing!!!! Touchsceen infotainment is a biggggg welcome!
So Superb out of dreams and Laura is in, on the 'next car' list! Just that, I need that 205/55 R16 rubber 'from eldest Sister', on it to smoke everything else

I am glad selling VW Jetta (World War times model ) in India is getting tougher to sell, thanks to Skoda. Hope the A.S.S. has also been given a facelift.

Why oh why do they insist on leaving their petrol models with the lowest trim? They better launch a vRS! Lookin' good, bad A.S.S notwithstanding.
