I did not notice any such add in bangalore TOI , may be it is MH specific.
1.6 at this price is a bargain for sure.I think they are clearing piled up stock, and the PUNTO is on the way as well.

It's a good deal, both the 1.6 offer as well as the 1.3 MJ offer on the palio.

But the Fiesta 1.6 Limited Eddition for 5.5L is the best deal in my opinion in the 4-6 L range. A much more superior car with a decent resale. (Only as compared to the Fiat and Chevrolet).

I called up Pandit Auto (Pune) just now to enquire. He said that Palio MJD 4.11 is price for base version and is ex factory price. 4.30L would be ex show room and that the on road price for this base version would be 4.85 lacs and 5.25 L for SDX version. Which was roughly the same month/two months ago considering some 10K odd discounts.

I'am really not aware of this ex-factory price and ex-showroom price. Why the customer should be really bothered about the ex-factory price? Can understand the showroom price but why the hell exfactory price?

Or is the dealer really not passing the discount to customer??

I am not too sure whether we are talking about same discount. But I got fully loaded Palio 18k less than the price that they have quoted on fiat home page. So my ex-showroom is quoted to 4.39 for MJD SDX. This discount works out to be 4.11 for base version even in Bangalore.

I am not sure about the stock clearing either, but when checked with dealerships in Bangalore, they are also not too sure about PUNTO launch. But expected to launch sometime in July or August.

Well the fine print clearly says "Ex-showroom outside octroi limits", whatever that means. I get an impression that the dealer is acting smart with you.

Any clues or educated guesses on how long the Palio 1.6 could be around? PUG members?

If I get one, I'd like to keep it for long (say 8 yrs). I don't want to be waiting for weeks to get spares like i did for my Ford Escort which was sold off last year.

Regular consumables are available in easy stock. Mechanical parts dont seem to be an issue and they can get stock within the week at most. Its only the body parts and cosmetic stuff that you lose in accidents that gets your car stuck at the garage.

This is the current situation, wonder if with the launch of the linea and punto whether palio spares start dwindling.
