TATA indica / indigo with Common Rail engines.

I found the following in the Jan 2005 issue of Overdrive (on the net).

=================================================
It is no secret either that Delphi has been working on a range of diesel engines for Tata Motors. These will all be common rail direct injection engines as well and will power all the Tata cars from the Indica to the Safari. The first prototypes of these engines were fired as early as August 2004. We have come to believe that the first of these CRDi vehicles is already at ARAI undergoing vehicle evaluation for homologation.

I've read here on team-bhp about the common rail engine with respect to the Safari. Anyone (stratos ??? ) have any idea about indica / indigo and these common rail engines ?

Cool, but they wont do much for refinement as crdi's are not very good it refinement at this level.
Well, hope they do something about the NVH too.

Indigo engine has been fitted with an intercooler so for a year or so expect no upgrades. Safari Crdi was caught testing by overdrive and may be hitting the market by end of year.
