I was told June first half as the probable launch date by the dealer sales manager.

OT, The A4 3.0 TDI would be formally launched soon. It can be booked however even now. Prices start at 37.5 lakhs ex-showroom (Gurgaon). With common options it would be around 40 lakhs. Enticing I'd say.

I was just on Audi India's website and they have a countdown timer of the Q5!
Launch in 21 days (June 3rd)!

Link: Audi India > Home

The SUV sure does look great - much better than it's rival the X3. I'm sure it will be a success here, going by the way people have taken to it's bigger brother the Q7.

My guess is pricing will be on par with the X3, around 40-ish L.

The pics Attached are from the audi sweden site.

cheers

Last Sunday the Overdrive show on Cnbc did the review of the car. as per them:

Price:- 37.5 - 45 (With all goodies and optional kits)
Performance:- 0 - 100 in around 8 Secs

Audi on a roll with a product generation ahead of the direct competition X3, Surely looks killer machine at killer prices.

This is such an intelligent product by Audi.BMW can say goodbye to the X3.
This SUV is going to take a number of prospective E-class and A6 sales away, not to mention may be some of its bigger brother the Q7

the new X3 scheduled to be out end 09 looks like a beast in the spy pics; Audi will have a head start but come 2010 the X3 will not be lagging behind for sure...

looks like an amazing package. Much much better then its competitors. It has looks to turn heads, performance to surprise biggies, features and equipments to put similar cars to shame. Brilliant SUV.

Audi Q5 - Launching on June-3

All,

Happened to see the countdown timer for Q5 launch in India at Audi website. Autocar had reported Q5 will have 3.0 V6 TDI engine from Q7 (and A8), priced somewhere near to 40-45 Lacs. Definitely the dimensions are shorter than Q7.

Audi is already ruling this segment with Q7, I feel at 45 lacs, Q5 is a great buy, however it may reduce the sales of Q7 going forward. Something we need to wait and watch.

Raneesh.

Where as its nice to see this car coming in quite quick, I doubt that the price tag is reasonable.
The car must not cross Rs. 40 lakh barrier.
And this car will reduce the sales of Q7 for sure. Q7 is a massive vehicle, where as this vehicle is smaller but does have space inside.
I hope they are able to price it such that they manage to eat into sales of sedans like 3-seires/C-class/Audi A4. Buying an SUV is always more practical in India than going in for these sedans.

Cool! 45L for Q5 is neat i think! And will certainly "dent" the Q7 sales. Q7 is a jumbo jet!
