a friend who booked a ritz Diesel was quoted less than a week for delivery - so yes, the folks wanting to buy it for the engine are going to flock to it in droves

Well,

The Ritz is getting a pretty good response. It will be another hit from the MSIL stable. It is already visible on the roads. Please wait for a month, I am pretty sure it will easily sell upwards of 6000 units/month ( if MSIL is able to produce enough cars to meet the demand).

it is selling coz as of now its readily available off the shelf with MJD,swift still has waiting period.
lets see how it fares few months down the line

Now that's interesting! I always thought the production of the engine was lagging behind, causing those huge waiting periods on the Swift and Dzire. Your post seems to indicate that the engines can keep up with the demand but the chassis / bodyshell production of the Swift can't.

Swift waiting period in Chandigarh was around 3-4 months before Ritz Launch, but now its 6+ months. MSIL is just plonking the DDiS in Ritz so it can easily sell ;)

Since the discussion on the price difference has been sorted out, do continue all Ritz postings here
