We've just crossed 8k on our 15 month old Magna AT, and we've got 9kmpl (approx 880litres from day 1).. Almost all of it in bumper to bumper traffic with A/C.

I presume he does a lot of highway driving, that's why. My dad drives 125kms a month and that's why used to get an FE of 6-7. I drove 250 kms in the last 10 days and thus i got this dramatic jump in FE. Although, i still can't understand why there should be so much of a difference.
And my driving style was kick down mode at every signal and flooring the accelerator on the bandra worli sea link. Still i managed an FE which got a smile on my face!

with 1500 bucks of fuel i can manage 300 kms but with mom and dad driving it is 200 kms. and i am damn serious. i guess they are so used to the CVT they dont bother chaning gears in this automatic at all.

I always calculate on tank full method and I don't know how to calculate on 500rs method.
Thumb rule , do not fill up the Tank full. Fill only 3/4th. The reason is put up in the other and some other tricks.

one more thing is that my daily commuting road from Chalukya Hotel to Hebbal flyover - doen not have any signals for around 10kms of stretch.

Chalukya Hotel > windsor manor > cauvery theater > Mekri circle> hebbal flyover

Hmm, I always get full tank petrol. Guess if I can limit it to 3/4 tank (say 1000 bucks from 1/4th mark), I should be able to increas emy FE by atleast .5 kmpl.

But how do we calculate the FE in that case?

What? We have as yet not been able to determine the fuel effeciency of the I10 auto. Should have been clear by now 7 pages down the line.

ACM - by the poll results - general trend seem to be 8-10 kmpl. Thats quite low, as ANHC/NHC ATs will comfortably give above 10 kmpl in city.

I have 2800 km on odo now. I am getting a consistent FE of 10-11 kmpl in city without a/c. With a/c, it is giving 8-9 kmpl only.

Put fuel when the yellow fuel indicator blinks , set your trip meter to zero .
Check the trip meter when the yellow fuel indicator blinks again

Get it.
Aint it bad to let the fuel level reach such a low point?
