i wonder how many people would come to a tata show-room to buy a punto and end up buying a vista
Its also a distinct possibility that in the heat generated in the segment by Jazz, Punto & Ritz, Vista sales in all probabilities increase. I agree, its a very well engineered, Value for Money & "spacious" product

indica is slowly but surely moving up the sales chart.

it used to be around 8000 units first, then 9000 and now 10,000+

i guess tata's strategy of keeping vista away from taxi market is bearing fruit.

or is the taxi version of indica selling more ?

As per discussion with Prerana motors sales person, With BPO market down not much Cabs are getting sold, but Zeta (petrol), and other diesel variants of Indica V2 are bought by tight budget customers. But Vista tops their sales chart.

I saw a new Blue coloured Vista yesterday in our building. Initially i thought it to be a different brand, it did not look like Tata Indica at all
the finish, looks, design appeared to be far far better than Indica.

I feel good that Tata has improved the quality of their cars.

It will also be interesting to know the split between i10 and i 10 Kappa. My guess is that Kappa must be 40% of the 11k i10s sold, i.e around 4.5 K

June 09 Sales

Maruti Suzuki sales in June 2009 New Delhi, July 01, 2009

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 75,109 vehicles in June 2009. This includes 13,336 units for export. This is the highest ever monthly export volume in the company's history.

The company had sold a total of 61,247 vehicles in June 2008.

Maruti Suzuki's volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 22.2 per cent while in the A3 segment the sales volume grew by 5 per cent during the month as compared to sales in June 2008.

Since its first shipment in January 2009, the A-star, has led company's exports. A-star's cumulative exports crossed 45,000 units mark in June 2009. The A-star has met overwhelming customer response in European markets like Germany, UK, Netherlands, Spain and France.

So this has been another good month for Maruti and hopefully for the industry with a domestic growth of 9.5% and a total growth of 22% over LY same month. Maruti has managed a good growth in A2 segment despite a slew of launches aka GP, Jazz, while the A3 segment has shown a moderate growth thanks to the base effect catching up on them. While A Star may not have been that great in the domestic market, exports seem to tell a different story

This is June sales, aren't we having monthly threads? But please mention the source or provide link to that.

GTO and Vasudeva will be coming up with the full industry figures for June.
Do we really need another thread to discuss this matter! Mods why don't you merge this one.
By the way I heard this news in CNBC.

I think better wait for reports and analysis from GTO & Vasudeva.

This is just a number from Maruti , there is no breakup given for any of these models like Alto, WagonR, Estilo, SX4, or even Grand Vitara.

Doesnt deserve the title. The fitting title could be "Maruti June 09 Consolidated Sales & Exports" OR "Press Release from Maruti on their June Consilidated sales."
