GM says it will create an intermediate segment. Hence, I think the car would be priced in the Laura-Jetta (13.18-18.01 lakh) range with features and comforts of the Camry-Accord (18.3-23.9 lakh) cars.

True or False?

by the looks of it and also the dimensions are smaller than the laura.
most places its the replacement for the cobalt. which is same as our current optra.
i guess GM is trying to pull off a Maruthi/Skoda (selling same models of the same generation side by side for different prices).
no way it is bigger than an accord or camry.
If they price it @18 lacs. How come magazines quote saying its the replacement for our current optra.. well its almost double its price
my guess for pricing for the top end diesel will be around 15lacs OTR.

Classy interiors. Look at the ac vents, they are huge! clear lines give it a big car look. Pricing is the key factor.

Great looking car! Surely a worth buy. After a long time we have a car with interiors and exteriors that look great.

The interiors seem to have the same colour inserts as the seats like what we have seen in the international Cruze. Unless GM will give factory leather, this doesn't seem like a good move.

wow. Finally a chevy that looks GOOD. This car has good road-presence.
The curved windows design from side-angle looks a bit like Linea.

Will it compete with Civic/Altis or Linea/ANHC/SX4 etc?

saw a couple of cars last night at about 7pm, coming from MG Road onto Kastuba road. They had the same GJ registration plate.
The rear is quite the similar to a Civic though.

The cars looks good dead-front. I feel the rear looks more like the new 7.

May be it's their base model and that's why no fog lights.

This is sold here in Australia as a "small car" under the brand name "Holden" and it is priced at 21k AUD which in turn converts to about 8.4 lakh Rupees for one of the variants.
This has a 1.8ltr engine under the hood over here. IMO this car would compete against the ANHC and Fiat Linea in India on pricing if i am correct.
I am not sure about the engine options offered for this in India though.

Freinds,

I saw one of these cars on 11/08/2009 5.45 PM. It was going from Coimbatore towards Ooty. The vehicle had "GJ" registration.

Elsewhere in the world, the Chevy Cruze is the replacement for the Chevy Optra / Cobalt. In India, they might launch it alongside the current Optra with a 1.8L petrol and 2.0L diesel engine. IMO, it wouldn't make sense. But neither does selling i10 alongside santro, Verna with Accent or i20 with Getz (albeit from a different stable).

Looks like GM Are trying to create some sort of hype by driving their car all around the country before its launched.

Saw the same white one on outer ring road today morning during peak hour.. Guess they are testing how the car behaves when we Bangaloreans drive during the mad peak traffic jams

But car looks neat
