GTO,
The review was due for a long time/pages, we almost hit 50 when you came in. You still made the day, waiting for the reviews & pics.

I believe this is becoming a standard, SID - for scoops & GTO - for reviews.
Thanks a ton for the commitment and the great job.

the FE may not be an issue to be compared at all. Because the GP version of the 1248cc unit makes 0.7 kgm more than the Vista unit. So, we can expect atleast vista QJD figures if driven with a lighter foot.

how powerful is the 1.4 G Punto ?

i had some great expectations on G Punto 1.4, but didnt find very satisfactory with the below figures(mainly the power to weight ratio). I was contemplating a Palio 1.6 sports and then i thought why not wait for the Punto. But the felow figures seem to be not so exciting, atleast as compared to its European version. But the ultimate test would be a TD and I am eagerly waiting to lay my hands on the Punto and then choose between 1.6 sports or G Punto 1.4, though i strongly feel the 1.6 would be more powerful.

PALIO 1.6 Sports
----------------------
Displacement (cc) 1596
Maximum Power 100 PS @ 5500 rpm
Kerb Weight (KG) 1060

G Punto 1.4
----------------
Displacement (cc) 1368
Max. Power (ps@rpm) 90 @ 6000 rpm
Kerb Weight (KG) 1145

Here is a sneak preview, guys . I will compile + upload my review tommorow, yet have to say just this. I enjoy driving very few hatchbacks (don't even own a single hatch).

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT the Punto gave me a wide smile on my face at 150 kph. ROCK solid highway manners, feels like a much bigger car, tall boys don't even come close at speed. This afternoon, our table was discussing which new hatch we'd put our money on. Without a second thought, I uttered 3 words "Red, MJD, Emotion (pack)". This isn't a car you buy with the head as much as you do with the heart.

Enjoy these, until tommorow:

Easily the best looking hatch in the country today. I just love it. I always loved the 1.6 GTX and this just takes it further. It reeks classic Italian styling. This car would be fun after a tuning box gets placed under the hood.

Its off to the near by Fiat dealership (5 min from home) for a TD over the weekend. And the showroom is right next to the highway.

Now that's very very interesting to hear! I can tell you one thing many like me trust your review more than our own and are eagerly waiting for this one. I am very sure that whatever your review is going to be - it will definitely make significant difference in June/July's car sales analysis figures in the 'Fiat' row . And, I have to add this -The trust we have on you is because of your passion and I truly admire it!
