That may be the reason GTO is holding back on unfolding the Punto review in the Test Review thread.

Keenly waiting forward to read an unbiased review on the Punto 1.4 Petrol and 1.3 Diesel.. AutocarIndia should also be the mag to watch out for next month...

Vinz... The black roof you're seeing in the white punto isn't painted. It's the panoramic sunroof We can be certain that won't be available on the Puntos on sale here.. The prices will eventually increase with them, and then we would know what would start next, in price wars...

Those alloys are yumm...

Tarun, your bro seems to have focussed his camera lens on one girl in particular as well, though personally the Grande Punto takes the cake

I went as saw the GP on Concorde Mysore road today afternoon. They have 2 silver GP's & 1 red one (Petrol E+). The TD's start tomorrow

The red one looks smashing -- just tooo good. The GP looks many many times better then the linea (and that is no bad looking car either).

Some + points (My personal opinions):
  • Good boot space
  • 15" tyres + alloys on plus packs
  • GREAT pricing + features
  • Looks GREAT (red one looks like a mini masserati from front). IMHO, best looking hatch from the front atleast
  • Brilliant COLORS. It looks smashing in all colors
Some - points (My Personal Opinions):
  • Interior space FEELS cramped (My Palio S10 FEELS more airy/roomier)
  • Quality of plastics is not GREAT (just ok).
    • I bet that the seat adjuster lever will break soon
    • The boot/fuel lid opener are El-CHEAPO
    • The door/sil clading, area round steering underside are again EL-CHAEPO
    • Even the small light in the boot conveys the EL-CHEAPO feel
  • Rear leg room is NOT that great (just ok). If one pulls the front seats all the way back, then there is NO rear space. However in normal front seat positions, the real legroom space is JUST about ok. I feel that putting the rear seat another inch or two back could have addressed this -- as the boot space looks quite good
  • The rear headrest poke into the shoulder and need to be pulled up
  • The doors don't close with that reassuring THUD
  • The black/grey color scheme & quality is NOT that great. Doesn't convey feel of a premium hatch
  • The map pocket's on all doors are no good for anything
Overall, I love the way the car looks from outside. However, it is a letdown once you are inside it.

The Concorde folks didn't allow to TD it so can't comment on the drive part -- but I am sure it would NOT be a patch on what my Palio 1.6 S10 can do

Cheers,

I didn't check the thread the whole day, and I fainted seeing the activity that had gone in the thread since morning - This is insane, guys!

Btw, I did manage to sneak to the Concorde Motors in Diary Circle, Bangalore. Sad to see no excitement in the showroom.

The display car should be there in the showroom by tomorrow, and the booking starts tomorrow. The booking amount is 50K.

Also, the TD cars will arrive only 3-4 days later. The lady with whom I interacted hardly evinced interest in resolving my queries and I didn't persist.

Hope to see the car in flesh tomorrow. If the rear space issue is not as serious as reported, I should go ahead and book the car (MJD E+).

I place no trust on ZigWheels review. Their fuel efficiency and 0-100 sprint times reported are unrealistic. Fiat should have done something intentionally and horribly wrong to get those figures. I don't think that can happen, esp with so much at stake for Fiat.

It is going to rain GPs in this forum for sure!

I wish the dealers share the same enthusiasm as the guys in here, Fiat gets their logistics correct to ensure prompt delivery, and follow it up with great A$$ with reasonably priced spare parts.

I want to write something explicit about Honda Jazz and its pricing - But, to maintain the decorum of this forum I'll resist and let the GP do the talking!

khan, i think all that is because of localisation.
most of the parts in the older palio's like yours and mine were (i think) not made at Ranjangaon.

but then again cannot have all those negative points that you mentioned on a 6L car.
completely agree with you.

Do not trust Zigwheels, they were trying to justify the high price tag of Jazz in today's TOI issue.

After seeing Jazz price I do not know why,I became so serious and angry

Great price by FIAT. Sure if promoted well and if the dealers shouw enthusiasm in selling the car to visitors, then FIAT have a hit on their hand.
Honestly don't understand how some people working in the TATA-FIAT showrooms can have such a pathetic behavior. They should be excited with the launch of a new car -> more business & better commision.

Got to agree, the build quality of the earlier Palio 1.6 were far superior to the current models. Why can't Indian suppliers rise to global standards. Invest a bit more in procuring newer tech & machines to produce better quality products.
