FIAT roped in Yuvraj Singh as Punto's brand ambassador. There is a full page ad in today's TOI.

Red Punto is haunting me!!

Skoda Superb
Yes it shows like that on the site but that is specifically a notch back -
A notch back is a car with 3 boxes - Engine, Passenger and cargo.
where as a hatch back is only 2 boxes with cargo attached to the passenger box.

Heres wikipedia Notchback - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

First thing in the morning, checked out the News Paper (TOI) Mumbai Edition for the Advertisement.

Sadly, only the launch is covered as an article in the TOI, nothing more than that, can anybody scan the AD & post it on the forum, really excited to see the AD.

EP vs EP+

The difference in EP and EP+ is mainly: Airbags, ACC, Leather steering and gear, Blue&Me and steering audio controls.

Given ABS/EBD, and given my moderate driving, airbags are not a necessity for me. So are ACC and leather upholstery which are desirable but not necessary.

About Blue&Me - I am not sure if a USB connector comes only along-with it, or can I connect a USB device without Blue&Me?

Other benefits of Blue&Me - voice activated phone control coupled with your audio, integrated steering audio controls etc are interesting and useful. But is a 50K difference between EP and EP+ justified just for this?

Fiat Grande - FIRST in some areas

Come on. You cannot compare with the NHC which as a wheelbase of a bicycle (well exaggerated, but less than even an Indica) But you look at other cars with long wheelbases, there are more or less the same. i20 has 5.2m.

Agree. Fiat cars have bigger turning radius. I love Spark in that area.

BTW, Fiat Grande Punto diesel has become the FIRST in some key areas:
  1. First diesel hatch in India with Steering audio controls.
  2. First diesel hatch in India with auto climate control.
  3. Second (first being the costly Fabia) diesel hatch in India with dual Airbags.
  4. First hatch with steering and audio integration with mobile devices.
  5. First hatch with original 15" alloy wheels.
What Maruti considered not worth doing, Fiat did it at Maruti price.

Its only a matter of time that Maruti realises that people are willing to pay for the extras. Once the Punto starts denting the sales of the Swift, Maruti will release these and more at a more attractive price. The benefits of competition among companies! I won't be surprised if Maruti releases an upgraded Swift very soon. Maybe the Swift Sports is coming.

Yes, even i believe it's the estate version and not a hatch backs or let me say that IT IS atleast all of our view here and not considered as a hatch back in india.

But if we go by the definition of a HATCHBACK then yes, they are all hatch backs.

"Hatchback is a term designating an automobile design, containing a passenger cabin with an integrated cargo space, accessed from behind the vehicle by a single, top-hinged tailgate or large flip-up window."

I just felt i should share what i read and I am sorry for the .

I don't agree that Linea is poorly built. Agreed. There had been complaints about niggling issues about certain parts. But then Fiat car owners are more honest and have microscopic eyes compared to other car owners. So, it is not surprising for me to see the complaints and I will not be surprised with Punto as well. Nevertheless, I would still considered Linea and probably Punto if same in Europe, one of the best builds on Indian roads.

well I am now confused as to which one to go for 1.4 Emotion pack or the 1.3 emotion. As the petrol in this case is even more costlier than the diesel (offcourse with a few features missing). I am not able to take the decision.
