I remember in one of the threads they had pictures of 100's of GV's sitting in the port, so it is imported as a completely built unit, if that is the case they must be giving the same steering wheel in a GV in Japan and other international markets. So why the crib.

They do that? What do they do with the stock steering that is shipped along with the GV from Japan?

They haven't swapped the steering on my GV I suppose. I was trying to get a steering cover and the SX4 cover didn't fit, the steering on my GV is much bigger, obviously it is the original one from Japan.

This is the steering on my GV:

New Grand Vitara 2.4 coming EDIT: Now Launched-217171056_epco2l.jpg

Can somebody post the up-close image of SX4 or Swift steering please?

I care to see atleast what is in offer in the new model. The decision point of purchase or no-purchase is different. GV is one of the most underrated SUV, i did some test drives when my boss was finalizing one and to tell you it has got decent space, sluggish on power initially, Yes the plastics etc. does not appeal and you feel whats better i get from an SX4. But i feel its a VFM SUV with some offroading capabilities - we can see from Samurai's and Sudev's threads.

2.4 Release should be interesting, it may as well lead to some minor enhancements in the existing GV and reduced pricing may be !! I know im expecting too much

Cheers...Rajesh

GV steering is different from SX4. The steering controls though similarly located are also different (The buttons are straight in SX4 while they are inclined in GV)

The price is still sensible compared to competition. I am glad they didn't do anything crazy with the price.

Power - 119bhp to 163.5bhp (that's a big jump)
Torque - 170Nm to 225Nm (could have been better)

I suspect people are still going to complain about interiors. If there was a diesel option, it would have murdered the competition.

Well they haven't updated the website so I'd like the source too. I am happy that the black interiors are still available.
