I own and drive an SX4, not Swift. But have driven Swift many times in Chennai-Bangalore highway. And I can assure you, It's way better than Getz.

If you're happy with your Swift, then that's all that matters.

Sidenote: Speaking as someone who was in a very, very serious accident a short while back and miraculously survived, I'd urge you not to try speeds like 160/170... the risks are far too great.

Happy motoring.
It was not me who had stated Swift to be a perfect hatch.

On the contrary I dont think there is anything as perfect. As each car has different USP. However the cars that get most things right according to their price point become a recipe for success.

My pefect hatch would have the following:

1) Engine Getz CRDI 110 PS
2) Tyres from Punto 195/60/15
3) Interiors like Jazz
4) Features like i20
5) Space like Jazz
6) Handling and suspension like Punto (havent driven yet but heard)
7) Looks like new Polo
8) Seats like Fabia
9) FE like Swift Diesel
10) Paddle Shift like ANHC

All the above at a price point of 7 lakhs ex showroom!!!

Remember, no car is perfect. But the simple fact that it sells around 7 times than Getz, proves that it has some 'sense' with it.
no need to get all worked up. read the earlier posts properly. no1 is against the petrol swift, just these idiotic limited editions.

btw i didnt compare the getz to the swift and frankly i dont care what you think of the getz. i chose it over the swift and thats what matters to me. and just because a car sells more dosent mean its better (how much did the skoda rs sell?). both has their + points and - points.

Thats a useless comparison.

I could also soup-up an autorickshaw with all that stuff, but that still wont make it a good car!

There's a reason why Indicas are cheaper than Swifts. Same reason why a Logan is cheaper than a Honda City, and a Lexus is cheaper than a BMW.
Whoah.. There...

Vista, thankfully, doesnt even figure in most of the comparos of sizeable hatches by so called experts. So us vista owners have got a small thing going. Leave us in peace. Please fight it out between Jazz/Fabia/i20/Polo/Swift/Ritz/GP. Not content with having so many to muck about?

-------------------
OT: Lets not bring snobbery here, please. Those who do,thinking that they are sitting high atop their Hyundais and Maruti/Suzis and Hondas and........, sadly dont seem to realize their own delusions.

The brands us normal folks buy have got nothing to with snobbery. They cant even be mentioned alongside anything to do with actual snobbery. Not honda, not skoda, not toyota, not hyundai least of all Tata or Maruti/Suzi.

A Million zillion sales record proves nothing. In India, A lot of people dont use proper rubber when they should. Doesnt mean I should follow them.

Each car is unique. Each has its own merits. Enjoy the car you got. Especially if she does all that you want her to do and how you want her to do. What do you care of your neighbours'?

Ok. My perfect hatch would be the Golf GTi Mk6. In white.

Sorry to jump in here, but could not resist. Using proper rubber may not guarantee expected safety if the rubber is not used properly. And it applies to cars too.

On a note related to the thread, why do people take delivery of cars that have "BIMAL" on the boot?? My wife once saw such car and said to me, "Look! That guy has got his name printed on the car!! Wot a weirdo!!" Ofcourse, i had to pull over and wait until i stopped laughing.

Some additional pics I clicked today morning at ABT Guidy, Chennai.

They received 9 cars and seems like all are sold out.

As per my observation this is somewhere in between VXI & ZXI

Those beige interiors look attrocious as if someone has whitewashed it and then stuck the black part of the dashboard onto it.
Looks way too overdone for a sporty suzuki.
It would have been better if maruti gave only beige seats (like in dzire zxi/ zdi), it would have looked better rather than painting the whole interior in beige for "glam"our..
And the best part-all units coming are immediately sold!

Beige as a selling point?

We've come to this?

Never mind power, ABS, airbags, man; my car's got Beige Interiors!

absolutely this doesnt feel as complete package nor a good overall finish, rather as sid said they could have given the glimpse like zxi/zdi touch rather then this feel of black addon on top of beige.
