Indian 'Car' shows on TV are PATHETIC

I cannot believe that the Indian car shows which come on TV are so pathetic.
- The lady describes the looks of the car ..c'mon maan we know what the bloody car looks like ...then she describes the interior (Oh no) ..then the camera zoons into the tail light and then the bonnet grille and some other weird angle...TOTALLY useless...
- There is more..once they showed an imported bike and gues what ? they didnt bother to let us hear the sound of the bike...
did not EVEn talk about the power and the engine config ..just kept on talking on "how powerful these beasts" were and how cool they looked... AHHHH .
- Worst part is when they take a test drive... everything is "comfy" and "easy to drive" and how "luxurious". (WHAT ABT THE 0-60,WHAT aBT the engine, the sound, the cornering ??????)
they dont even floor the accelerator...simply show this lady going on on and on abt the "luxury" and "comfort" and "luxury" and "comfort""luxury" and "comfort""luxury" and "comfort""luxury" and "comfort" !!!

Any motorhead car freak out there agrees with me ??

They are not detailed enuff and they sound so amateurish. The visuals are as bad as they can get and the coverage isnt detailed enuff.
They should make use of visual statistics which they rarely do.

They should devote more time for the roadtestd/preview/review/bla bla bla and improve the quality levels by several notches.

Hope they improve.

Particularly the show on zee news is pathetic...the hosts talk like morons......i think out of the indian auto shows,the show on cnbc is good.

No Indian car show will ACTUALLY test the car to its limits like Top Gear.

The best part is when they say "now lets test its ride quality" and they take the S class on dirt roads where only bullock karts run!

And non of them will have a bad thing to say about any car they test.

One of the worst shows I had seen was Top Drive where this skimpily dressed chick was given some lines to mug up and then present a car review ugh!!!! And to say that she got to drive all the good cars

Car & Bike show on NDTV Profit is the only one I follow, which is way better than other (atkleast for me)

The producers of Top Drive are friends of mine - let say that they are pretty embarassed with the show but that's what Star wanted. I told them many times that the report out in November "recent Geneva" show was stretching it when the Geneva show is in August etc.

When Daisy drove the Porsche 996, apparently she ran it off the road and ruined a tyre. Car belonged to that guy in Mangalore.

No thety do that off camera - Mercedes are really pi**ed off at the number of C classes that have to be repaired after the press got to them that thev cars are always under supervision. The Wheels team trashed a Nissan X trail, BS Motoring rolled an Siena estate (after the company plied them with drinks!)...and so on

Recipe for another yet another mundane Indian car show :

1. Indian girl in short skirts - Knowledge of cars entirely unnecessary.
2. Good animation and intro music. Lift from any 1990 techno song
3. Additional Indian girl in short skirt. 1st girl covers cars. This one will do bikes.
4. Information clipped from news channels.
5. Good camera work on different angles of the car.
6. 10 p.m. slot on popular tv channel.
7. Yet another girl in tight attire or a short skirt
8. Bharat Petroleum "Speed" ads every 5 minutes.
9. Mention the top speed and fuel efficiency of every new car.
10. Finale on "what we will cover next week" by another chick in short skirts.

Its as simple as that.

But where is the real stuff i.e. FIRST HAND CAR INFORMATION!!

Me thinks if star were to outsource their car shows to Team-BHP we'll have a great show. It would definitely be light years ahead of other indian car shows

i only follow show on CNBC which is also starting to get bad

@GTO: you forgot to mention while auto selector they just keep on repeating the same questions again & again
