I sold my KA-03 bike and I know that it got transferred between 2 RTOs ( KA-03 to KA-04 ).

However, the website still shows me the owner. Don't think that they update inter-RTO transfers. This probably means that I'll end up getting challans for any traffic offenses by the new owner.

Do we have a site like bangaloreone for mumbai and maharashtra ? I need to type in a vehicle reg number to see if it has any cases of penalties or fines. Thanks!

It seems the BTIS website has taken off link providing the RTO details of bangalore vehicles. It does not work anymore.

They may be breaking their heads to come up with Marathi SMS input and database so as to satisfy the politicians. So we need to wait !!

That's right, I was going through the BTIS site now and the RTO link is gone.

yes, the above URL still works, however, for me the sms and the URL both gave different results, seems that the data is not up to date.

Its gonna be a year since I picked up the scorp' and surprisingly they don't have it in their database. My older baleno has been sold and transferred to the new owners name. However on their website it still shows under my name.

works absolutely fine. Great tool to have. Checked for the cars I have sold and the one I have and all correct info. Gives Owners name, registration, engine no., chasis no., make and model along with colour

Good tool to have when it is someone elses mistake and they do not want to divulge any details nor pay up.

I've seen that between RTOs the database does not get updated during ownership transfer.

However if the transfer is within the same RTO it get's updated.

I got traffic violation notice for the car which I sold 3 years ago (to maruti truevalue) The ownership information in RTO got transferred at that time itself. The BTIS website and SMS indicate new owner (not me).

However, I called the automation centre and the person told me that according to whatever RTO records they could access, I was still the owner.

Any idea what I can do next? Please help.
