I've been a fan of the Vista. In the last two years however, with a spate of new launches, the Vista has gotten lost in the crowd. The 90 BHP engine should bring it some attention again.

My grouse with the Vista's marketing remains though - Link to related thread

Considering Maruti is Fiat's biggest customer - and by a mile - I don't think Fiat could say no. Maruti is probably waiting for the new Swift to launch the 90 BHP engine, or evaluating the possibility of shoe-horning it into the SX4.

Akshay--> VGT is for the QJD (Diesel) engine. None of the petrol hatchbacks are Turbo Charged.

I know that, which is why I asked fx45 when the petrol got a turbo because he mentioned 1.4 VGT.

Off topic, I wonder what happened to the VW-Suzuki engine sharing deal. I think it would do wonders for VW if one of their diesel engines were rolled out in the new swift D. I imagine it would help with the economies of scale , just like it did for fiat initially.

And so the wait for a proper indica 'sport' continues

What an anti-climax! Can anyone explain the logic behind this move?
How many petrol Vistas does Tata sell in a year? Did research reveal that the poor sales figure is attributable to lack of power?

I don't think this is going to happen. It could be for this reason that Fiat resorted to importing the 1.4 T-jet rather than manufacturing it here (I assume it is not that difficult to manufacture the 1.4 T-jet when Fiat is already manufacturing 1.4 NA).

I was under the impression that the Vista is going to get the 1.4 FIRE engine from Fiat.

But now this screenshot from Tata's website is saying otherwise !!

Thanks for the links. Is the listing for International or Indian models?

Lets see the pricing strategy, hope it does not imitate Punto's!

I feel the link is for international models.

1.4 safire 90bhp clearly seems to suggest TATA are looking to boost up the petrol vista sales.

Vista Safire Aura ABS 65 PS @ 5500 rpm 4.35L (Mumbai)
Indigo Manza Safire Aqua 90 PS @ 6000 rpm 5.15L (Mumbai)

There is a difference of 80k between the top end 65bhp petrol vista and the base 90 bhp Manza
so hopefully the price should be somewhere in between.
cheers!!

Tata has been advertising the drivetech4 Vista (Surprise yourself) quite heavily over the past 3 days,I get to see it almost every 2 overs during the Test match.Hope they are planning to actually make a new ad for the 90HP Vista.IMO,and some friends of mine who have discussed the drivetech4 ad weren't particularly fond of it.Just adding another line 'Now available in 90hp too' wont do the trick.
