It does not make sense for City to have even a step up, now it will start competing more with the elder brother. Civic on the other hand is having an identity crisis early in its life. Not a racer, nor a cheap car, nor a outright comfy car. Is it just a gap filler? Its purpose in life is being underestimated by its own younger sibling.

Its just bad mathematics by Honda management. Ego trip does not let them bring the prices to realistic levels.

Come on Honda lets play it real and earn more by selling more not earn more by selling less. You are never going to be a premium brand no matter how hard you try, Indians have internet and they know Honda has its premium segment sold as Acura. God know if they think of launching Acura, they will be more expensive than BMWs and Mercs of the world.

I think Honda wants Jags, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and rest to fear its commanding position in India

Thanks Sid, with these updates, I might opt for City instead of Civic as my Mom's new car.

lol, you guys, stole my words, strange that civic still doesnt get the steering mounted audio control.
City is already priced at a huge premium , but the way Jazz is selling, probably Honda's faith in charging the premium has become more deeprooted.

Still no ACC!

Let's see what the nominal increase is for alloys, fog lamps, some chrome & leather upholstery.

The suspension rework itself will help boost sales. Lower body scraping is the prime reason people stay away from the civic, including me.

I still see the City lacking two basics - rear discs (even Mark I VTEC had them), and Climate Control.

I don't think that the City and Civic prices will be increased after these alterations. Remember Honda didn't increase the price of City when they added ABS and Airbags (?) in NHC after the SX4 launch.

There is no mention of the changes in the ground clearance or suspension setup in Civic despite so many issues highlighted by users. Hope they are doing something about it this time.

Bhery nice bhery nice

This is Honda sense. City price will have to be jacked up by atleast 50 -70K (after all they have to keep a distance from Jazz) although difference from Altis J will become even less. If they dont hike the price, then barebones Jazz will not look so jazzy as compared to City with Alloys and Fog lamps. Either case City is going to face some very village like bumpy roads.

We the ignorant Indians must feel honoured that we are being given the option to buy Civic. So what if a CD changer has been deleted in an 'upgraded' model and no new features have been added to the car. After all 'Honda is Honda Boss'. Sirf naam bikta hai.

I have written earlier also that Honda ruled only in absence of proper competition. Against Laura Petrol and Altis, days of Civic supremacy now seems to be over. Accord has already been overtaken by Superb. CRV does not look attractive at that price point at all.

Success seems to have gone to Honda's head.

civic also adds a cruise control in all models, forgot to mention that.

City=civic sense, civic=new sense, price hike=nonsense.

Time for Fiat to wake up and attack Honda with the Linea and Punto.

Stiffer rear suspension should take care of that.

What is ground clearance - the clearance of the lowest part of the car. This is almost invariably the steering linkages. These being between the wheels rids up and down as the wheel moves, so do not play a role in the suspension bottoming out. The softness/hardness of the rear suspension does. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

Comparing with the Punto's Emotion Pack + or the i20's Asta version, these big cars are actually starved of features!!

My sense is that the Civic will have a 50K price hike for the above changes. I agree with most people that "in an ideal world" the proposed features should come at the existing price.

Well, actually Mahindra were the first to implement it in their Mighty Muscular Scorpio VLX.....so Honda have lagged behind on this one as well.

And its a bloody shame that the the City prices are going to be hiked for putting in stuff that should have been there in the first place - just shows that they're not bothered by what Fiat is providing by way of equipment in the Linea! And still no climate control
