Congrats Gagan! Any insights on what made this happen will help us all.

Separately all the best with this car and look forward to pics and review.

Cheers,

Really Sad

Dear Gagan

That is a really sad story....

When you happen to invest such a good amount in a car you would expect nothing but the best.

I would suggest that you try and get hold of the Skoda officials and threat a suit.

That may ease out the matter.

Hi Gagan, Wonderful. My heartly congrats on getting the new car which you can enjoy driving without any hassels.

The auto market in india has to mature and treat each customer with respect and dignity. After all its our hard earned money.

I'm happy you got a new car. Enjoy it! It is another good sign from Skoda.

3) It's interesting, is there any progress in your interaction with Skoda in your country?
1) Welcome to TBHP. And we are glad to know that your car was replaced. The dealers are much better in Russia I think.

2) Wow, Skoda in Czech Republic did admit about the problematic gearbox. There are issues with Passat in India too apart from this Skoda problem. IIRC, in the posts made in Skoda threads, in one place, Skoda in Czech Republic flatly refused to intervene.
Shows the difference. In India, they dont even admit to problem unless you make noise, but for other nations they admit to problems.

3) I think Harish will be the best person to comment on this. He is paying monthly installments for car that is not with him.

Not in one case, but in each and every one of them.

They have taken advantage of our system and worked it well.

Happy motoring Gagan. Enjoy your car.

Well I wish to inform you that as I told you earlier Skoda had changed the gearbox of my car but I did not take delivery of the car. Finally they gave in and offered me a Brand new car on payment of Rs.1,47,000(approx). Against this amount they would also be getting my new car registered. I will get refund for balance of my old insurance and have got a new insurance for my new car. never mind insurance is a consumable. Finally I got my new car on 29th september and am enjoying driving it. Hope it does not give any problem in future.

I wish to thank all my Fellow Bhpians as they have stood by my side during this ugly episode. Thanks you very much once again. all this would not have been possible without your help and support.
Congrats Gagan,

Unexpected, but well appreciated. (Though it would have been better if the incident itself had not happened.)

Now next for Harish, Skoda seems to be resolving issues one at time with all except harish.

It is good to know that the car was replaced, but I still find the 1,47,000 unacceptable. This is a huge amount of expense to suffer because of Skoda. It is just penny-pinching and mean to impose this charge: they should meet all the expenses.

yes....why pay 1,47,000?
this is ridiculous (may sound triffle compared to the price of the car)...

Even though Skoda should have done it for free, I am glad they satisfied a customer...

I hope this is a sign of things to come..

p.s. What happens to your old car? Skoda test drive car or maybe sold as second hand?

I guess the 147k is for depreciation? He did get a brand new car. It would have been nice if it was free but overall, a decent response from Skoda. Maybe they're finally turning over a new leaf.
