Its not underpowered in A-star. Infact A-star is fun to drive due to good handling and good engine. Yes, its a three cylinder motor and hence the car is not that refined especially in idling, but otherwise it nice.

Now coming to your point.

Zen Estilo with F10D :
Max power : 64 bhp
Max Torque : 8.56 Kgm.
Kerb Weight : 875 kg.
Power to weight ratio : 73.14 bhp/ton.
Torque to weight ratio : 9.78 kgm/ton.

Estilo with K10B :
Max Power : 67 bhp ( 68 ps = 68/1.0149 bhp = 67 bhp ).
Max torque : 9.09 Kgm ( approx. )
Kerb weight : 865 Kg ( VXi, from brochure ).
Power to weight ratio : 77.45 bhp/ton.
Torque to weight ratio : 10.50 kgm/ton.

So, going by the numbers, this car with K10B is suppossed to perform better. Gearing too will play an important role. What will be missed is F series's good bottom end nature that is inherent in that series. Wagon R is good in city driving thanks to this single fact.

I am expecting improvement in gearbox also.

Thanks for the pics Sidindica

Actually ...i dont know what to comment.GOOD..Better ,not the best and it ORDINARY.

What ever said and done the problem is with the rear seats.

But Kseries engine is definitely going to push its sales and that the selling point.

Any idea when the new swift with kseries is expected?

Nope the Vxi has wider mirrors which are electrically adjustable so the width is more.

with the current estilo having created a ' dont-buy ' mindset, it will be interesting to see if the new one actually sells.

Well, atleast Maruti have managed to remove the Wimpy look from the face of the Estillo and the new powerplant is welcome for sure.

Should be a good budget buy..

Is it just me or is it that the people in the pictures have been photoshopped to deliberately look smaller? The first picture shows the car to be below shoulder height. A few pictures later 'a safer fresh drive', you see a guy leaning on it and the car actually is over neck high to make it look 'Innova' size?

Looks good. Honestly, the design has kind of grown on me now...I find the Estilo more and more acceptable everyday. This face lift is definitely looking better than the 'original'.

Hi there,

I happened to see a few new Maruti Estilo cars in the car stockyard at Alto-Porvorim (Goa) a few days ago. Uploading a photo for your perusal. The snap was clicked from my Nokia phone, so no great snap over here.
Regards,
Melvyn

That is pretty common and is with a lot of ads, people do looks smaller occasionally. They deliberately do that for the effect. In one snap, it looks bigger than an Innova. Yes, they always make people look smaller.
