Yes, I did find a couple of those taxi taxi fiestas swinging around in coimbatore today, seems like they have started service very recently. I also saw quite a bit of ad this morning on times if india

Price will be in the region of Cruze, Corolla, Laura and Civic.

No news on the engine front. I will be getting more information in July. Till then we can just speculate.

^^ Thats fabulous news you got there. Is it the 2012 model we are talking about? I'm a big fan of the focus hatch, though I don't think we are so lucky enough :(

Ofcourse we are not this lucky, I am talking about the 2012 Focus Sedan that was launched recently in the US.

The Focus doesn't seem to be very large either on the outside or on the inside :( Hope it has other weapons in its arms to take on the competition. I am sure Handling would be one of the main plus points, the Focus being a Ford!

2012 focus in India in 2012? Seriously?! Awesome! That would be an idle upgrade for current fiesta owners like me

Does the focus sedan/hatch come with a diesel engine anywhere in the world? In India diesel would be the choice of most, so I am guessing it will come with one, but did not know if it had one.

Yes we can fit a 1.6/2.0 TDCi in the focus.

Nice! Even i may go for it after a couple of years. Btw the new 2012 focus is already on sale in the US.

An interesting link about the Ford Focus posted in the Focus thread.
Is the Focus coming next year?

The link says the focus has a 1.6 Tdci diesel with 113 bhp and 29.4 kgm of torque. Is that the Fiesta's diesel engine in a different state of tune?

Yes it is. But i guess the 2.0 TDCi will be more appropriate.

Mustang, this I was kind of suspecting/speculating. That Ford will plan a Altis/Cruze/Civc like sedan. In fact that is what I was "fearing"! The reason I say fearing is because, that in all probability would be priority number 1 for Ford in that category.

So what happens to compact cross-overs! I am all for them. I am doubting, that these class of vehicles may get pushed to later part of 2012, if they do get released that year.

Any comments?

I think that you will be seeing only the focus sedan in 2012.
