Saw the car in UTVi on Tuesday night. It is quite impressing.

The 2.0 Diesel should be great to drive with the kind of power and torque in the specifications ....

man, the interiors are so tempting!! Love it already. Wonder whether there would be any changes to the interiors for the indian market.

Heard that there were some changes done to suit indian conditions. So, guess to keep profits and price lower, chances that they did do some cutting here and there.

I was a little curious about the "cruise control" function since it is a manual car as I always thought that "cruise control" was available only on automatic transmissions. A little research shows that it is indeed available on many manual cars in the west. Normally it can be engaged in 3rd gear and above and is auto-disengaged when you hit the brake or in some cars, when you hit the clutch.

I'm a little disappointed that there is no Auto box at launch. Any idea when we will see that launched sid?

Any plans for AT Cruze in petrol/Diesel?
AT is important for this segment and looking at the petrol and diesel spec it looks good for AT.

Woow look @ the spec.it sounds like they have put the same Captiva Eng.
Its time for Toyota to buckle-up & launch the Corolla diesel.
And any idea when does the Honda launch their diesel eng.?

I think there's sufficient price difference to co-exist with the Optra in an "Octavia - Laura" like combo but with more sensible pricing and better powered diesel engine.

Nice scoop Sid, you rock as usual. Hope they dont bring in a scaled down version of it and say, to suit "Indian Condition".

See today's paper. They are offering heavy discounts on Optra. So there would be a clear price difference between Optra - Cruze. I think the car looks great and might be on my shopping list soon.

Just to add, even the vRS has a cruise control in it in India.

good info well on time.

1.8 petrol above 13 L for manual is costly. One can as well try Altis or Civic (both are from the most reliable brands in India). Diesel is one good shot, why not auto transmission I wonder.

Why do these manufacturers (except Hyundai) not consider auto boxes for Indian customers I fail to see.

Tata manufactures Auto transmission bus for DTC (Delhi Transport Corp) but none for any of their vehicles.

Hmm, slightly overpriced as usual, then they wake up and reduce price when sales don't happen.
