Facelifted Audi Q7 Launched!

Just came across this article in economictimes that Audi today launched the new Q7 with 3 engine options and the funny part is they claim they are priced at 55.2 Lac, 53.4 Lac and 29.9 Lac, well the 3rd engine which one is it? for 29.9 Lac I assume Audi is selling the Q7 with a go Kart engine? I dont understand how do media good up like this? Anyways can someone shed more light on what engines and what are the prices?

Perhaps they mean 59.9?

Reducing trend in prices, I'd assume its 49.9. Not that it matters to me right now

I don't think there is any price reduction, infact the price has been hiked slightly. As per the autocar show

I am quite sure it is 59.9L.
I believe they are offering the 3.0D, 4.2V8, and the 3.2 petrol (?).
By looking at the pics, some of the greatest weaknesses of the Q7 have been eliminated. I wasn't a big fan of the tail lamps and even the headlights were beginning to look dull, but the new one looks simply superb!
Here are some pics for those who aren't aware of the changes. Look at the headlights, bumper, grill, tail lights on the exterior.
Interior has some changes with the lighting, though the basic design stays the same.
BTW, are they launching the S Line? With the B&O speakers, seats etc?

Some interesting points from the article:

Quote:
The company also plans to expand its dealership from 12 to 18 by 2010-2011.

Audi currently has dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Kochi.

"We plan to expand to Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur and Coimbatore soon," Tiers said.

The Audi Q7 has a number of new features like voice control, which enables the driver to operate a cellphone or music system by just calling out the name of a song or a phone number.

It also has adaptable headlights that switch on or off according to the moves of the car, showing the path ahead.

That 29.9 lakh figure is for the non homologated 4.2 V8 if you convert 43000 euros price approx. Add 105% import duty to 29.9 lakh and options and the price of the 4.2 V8 can go upto 70-75 lakhs.

Thanks Sidindica for clearing the mind, Anyways on a side note I think what is really exciting is the fact that Audi will start assembling Q5's and I think Q7's from March which would make these very good value just like the S class is due to it's CKD route,

Yes it's good value but not for us! Most car makers launch CBUs then make then CKD and shave off just a small amount of the price. The major chunk of saving is relected in a hefty profit column of their balance sheet

Sahil,
I agree but atleast you end up saving on RTO, atleast in gujarat you pay twice the RTO amount for CBU compared to CKD/SKD cars.

I prefer the CBU route.
Atleast in Maharashtra, it is possible to register the car in a company's name without paying higher registration tax.
BTW, totally OT but how much are the S320 CDIs for? the 730Ld is for 99L OTR Mumbai, and the A8 3.0D is for 85L OTR Mumbai.

I think the ex-showroom in Ahmedabad is around 71L, But then you also need to remember a lot of equipment is standard on the S-Class compared to the 730Ld.

While I agree the CBU route offers better customisation at the end I think getting a nicely configured CKD/SKD really saves you good money.

The things that I liked about refreshed Q7 is the rear LED tail lamps and the front grill. IMHO the front LED treatment is kind of overdone as per my taste. If it is possible I'd like to change the front grill and rear lamps of my Q7 with the new one (need to check with the dealer about the possibility and the cost).

V12 or even V8 diesel was never on offer here. When I had enquired with the dealer I was told it is due to concerns of the diesel quality (?).
