When we were hoping for Ferraris and Maseratis to hit Indian showrooms, we get the fastest car in the world! Who'd buy the SSC when one can get the LP640 for 4cr? The SSC doesn't even look good IMO. It's just got the top speed.
When the Bugatti Veyron was launched McLaren F1 designer Gordon Murray said,

"The most pointless exercise on the planet has got to be this four-wheel-drive 1,000 horsepower (750 kW) Bugatti. I think it's incredibly childish this thing people have about just one element—top speed, standing kilometre or 0–60. It's about as narrow minded as you can get as a car designer to pick on one element. It's like saying we're going to beat the original Mini because we're going to make a car 10 mph (16 km/h) faster on its top speed—but it's two feet longer and 200 kilos heavier. That's not car designing—that just reeks of a company who are paranoid..."

It's the same thing with the SSC Ultimate Aero!

firstly, i dont think Shelby supercars have put up that advert. if they did, it has absolutely no connection with their car. secondly, since when have super-luxury brands started advertising at airports?? they dont need every 'tom, dick and harry' to become customers. people with the knowledge and moolah for buying these exotics dont need any introduction, or inducement to buy this. i guess ashutoshb posted this news to tell us what the fastes car in india would be. i dont think it bears any relation with the adverts in delhi airport..

P.S: are you sure its an advert for a magazine?? because magazines usually dont refrain from using the brand logos.

Aero SSC being advertised with a Golf? That's a good one. It is most likely some car show or mag as others have pointed out before me.

And then compromising on aerodynamics? Performance?
Offcourse it will. But in India its next to impossible to drive that car. So the height adjustment feature is nice.

Its the VW Polo !!! No...Its the Golf!!!

Irrespective of which of the two it is...Cheap advertising gimmicks for sure! This isn't the world's fastest car! They will probably state * In its segment* or some nonsense like that!

I'm currently sitting in front of the ad in discussion. The hustle ad in Delhi airport. Can't get the message being driven. will wait and watch. don't want to waste my time thinking about some ad.

I remember a conversation a while ago with a friend from the media where he mentioned that NDTV was going to do a desi version of Top Gear, with their own version of the stig et al. Just wondering if this has to do something with that show?

this is too much of a tease. lets invoke the Right to Information Act and find out who placed these ads.

It is not Golf Ad
It is definitely not ad for Aero (why the heck will they use VW golf as a teaser for their car ??)
As other BHPians have guessed, it is about some magazine OR TV show (program or reality). Now the question, which one ?

Me spotted this yesterday. i've been travelling to kolkata, bangalore, mumbai, chennai.

This banner is found only in Delhi Airport & no where else.
Doesn't seem like a pan india plan to start with.

Banner - No doubts on the cues of VW Golf. As most of us are guessing - this has to be Polo / Golf

Saw it at Delhi airport...
Its probably a new magazine / TV show.

If it was a car teaser, they would've shown a close-up of some part of the actual car. (Alloy wheel, Headligt, Exhaust etc)

I was said from Delhi Airport that its nothing related to cars! But some other ad-campaing. I'm not sure, what ever the idea was so success that we all had a discussion on it.
