Guys I stumbled upon this website during one of my searches. Its a good initiative, so lets give full fledged support for it.

Stolen Vehicles India - Website to track Stolen Vehicles in India

I can see they have met with some success on recovering stolen vehicles in India, more on their website.

PS: I am not associated (even distantly) with them, this is not an advertisement.

I thought it might be a good initiative.

But, when I tried to visit the website, the browser presented this warning by McAfee stating that "www.stolen.in/index.php may cause a breach of browser security"

It opened on FF perfectly for me without any warning from Quickheal. Looks like a good initiative.

Fantastic initiative! I do hope this portal has reasonable success as it is serving a dire need of the Indian car owner. Their success will depend on:

1. Financial sustainability. How exactly do they plan to fund their operations?

2. Support from the RTO, Police, Finance and insurance companies.

3. Their operational efficiency. This type of an exercise requires a heck of a lot of footwork, systems and following up.

Good luck to them!

I had tried it last night and website worked fine. I ll update my Scorpio's details today and see if I can get some response. I have not found any details of MH cars ( all details are mostly from NCR region).

I have my doubts if Police will be able to help unless it gets a backing of home ministry as various state police depts have no coordination.

Whats the status, did you update the details ??

Nice idea. Hope it helps people recover their stolen vehicles. When browsing for the list of stolen vehicles, I noticed that they don't have the following critical information:

1. Model (Has only make).
2. Color or some other possible identification marks etc.

How many of will remember the number plates? Most likely the people who steal will swap out the number plates.

Personally, I think they have launched the site without much planning. Anyways, like I said hope they click.

Came across this interesting website that "seem" to deal with stolen vehicles - Stolen Vehicles India - Website to track Stolen Vehicles in India . I haven't bothered to check it out completely yet, but it kind of looks helpful

Nice step, I think all Insurance/Authorized service center should help this organization and share the data.

You have a option for the Year too. They might add :-
1. Small description
2. From where the vehicle got stolen (City/State).

Thanks for the website. I have registered my car on it. Let's just hope it works.
