Second hand Nano available in the market already

Just saw a news item on CNBC Awaaz about second hand Nano being available in the market.No. it has got nothing to do with the fire incident in a parked Nano which was in the news recently.
News report says these Nano are available at a premium of about 25 to 30k through used car dealers but these are actually not used cars but new ones.News report says these Nano had been booked in some small towns through proxy bookings to make some quick bucks to cash in on the demand at a later stage.
Here is the link of the news item

That sucks. I hope no one buys them. Thats the best thing to happen to black marketeers. I recall when we were in college and on a strict budget. We hostel guys decided to catch a movie at the last minute. Unfortunately some black marketeer purchased a whole stock of them and began selling them at 1.5x the price.Much as we would love to buy those , we couldnt afford them. However we were unsure where to go next and were hanging around till show time. Turns out that the guy over estimated the demand and couldnt sell all the tickets. He ended up giving them at half the price since he still had to pay off cops etc. Was a lovely day. Sorry to go OT , but I hope something similar happens here.

When Zen was first launched, dealers used to Black market it also. And they also had buyers. IMO Nano in Black will also sell.

OT. The dezire sells for a premium of 25 to 30K in Tamilnadu. The dealers themselves sometimes hype the demand.

So this is a new Nano and not second hand. Anyways, if it were available on the actual second hand market it would interesting to know the price.

Long time since I am hearing of a premium ("on" as is the popular term amongst dealers) for a new car. Heard of some Nanos in Mumbai exchanging hands for 50,000 rupees over & above the original cost. Reminds one of the early M800 days, when the premium was worth 50 - 100% of the cars price!

Way back in '96, I remember the "on" for a Zen being as high as 30,000 & the Opel Astra 20,000 (early days).

Actually Nanos are also available through Carwale in the used car section. They just have a few hundred Kms on the ODO.

I hope TATAs adopt a good sales strategy to stop this black marketting. Guys, seriously do you still think NANO would be a hit?

I paid 'on' to buy my 118 NE and the Esteem. That was the end of 'on'.
137 D was managed by a good friends uncle was was on the board of directors and managed to 'out of turn' allot the car.
Reminiscing the good ole ( or Bad ole ) days.

I have a feeling that quite a few bookings were just for the Premium, so am not the least surprised. Let the premium vanish and so will quite a few bookings!

Last month I visited a multi car dealer here in Mulund, He offered me a Nano of my choice of colour at a premium of 40k when I did not show any interest he promptly came down to 30K. If someone really wanted to buy it I m sure he would have come down further on his offer.

Sort of defeats the point of cheap motoring doesn't it, if prices are indeed 50k higher?

In NCR we have a waiting of around 3-5 months on Swift VDi and around 8-9 months for Dzire VDi. Some people do pay a premium around 15-20k for getting the car instantly.
But its not some sort of hype ; its the real situation here.
Demand is much much more than supply.
If someone can pay the extra bucks he can get it and its not entirely wrong IMHO.

Speculators all who have booked the tiny car for raking up some moolah! The tiny car may later on, that too not in the very distant future attract discounts. Offers with free insurance or road tax on this car may not be pipe dreams, sometime in late 2010!
