Came across this news claiming that this Vista Indigo i.e. Manza is coming on 14th October.

Tata Motors will launch the Manza soon. Manza? the name of new Indigo. We all know Tata is developing the new Indigo on the same platform of Indica Vista. Tata has christened the new indigo as Manza and it will be launched on October 14th. Manza will be unveiled by Mr. Ratan Tata in Mumbai. Manza will come with two engine options sourced from Fiat – the Safire petrol and multijet diesel. The 1.4L petrol will develop 95PS of max power and 1.3L multijet will pump out 90Ps of max power. Similar to other tata cars, the manza will come with spacious cabin and class leading features. It will have centrally mounted instrument panel like in the Indica vista. Steering mounted audio controls,alloy wheels and projector headlamps would make the manza a comfortable car. Tata Manza will compete against the Swift Dzire and Renault Logan

Seniors - Need advice on
a)What is the possibility of having problems in the new car(aka Tata using the buyer for identifying issues) based on Tata's record(indica/indigo/CS)
b)If any issue is identified, then how good has Tata been in addressing them. Note this is not your regular *** which is not upto the mark.
c)Will Manza petrol base model(OTR 5.8L) be a better choice(worth the risk of above two points) than CS GLX(OTR 4.6L)?

Just received this link from a friend working in TML and also on the promo for manza. Its their teaser campaign that will be going live tommorow (or is it today, its already past midnite anyway)

The first thing i noticed was the console is on the driver side. Hope the total package is good.

It does not have central console. And there is no Indigo, just Manza.
This will make many people happy.

If the rest of the car also look as good as this picture, then TATA sure have a winner in their hands.

Though the possibility is there the chances of issues is less as this is the newer already tested vista platform. And TATA has been getting better.

TATA is good at addressing issues and service gets even better with more premium vehicles from their range.

Yes the newer Manza petrol will be a much better vehicel than the OLD CS one simply because of the platform and improved refinement.

Further sources from Tata Motors have confirmed 14th October 2009 as launch date for 'Manza'. There has been no indication/clarification if the new offering will retain Indigo prefix as is in the case of Indica Vista.

There are lot of changes from Vista to Manza and these are not limited to attachment of boot to a hatch. Manza will be first vehicle from Tata stable in sub - 10 Lac range to have Airbags & ABS (Safari provides these features in top variant costing above Rs. 11L). In terms of sapce, it is hinted that this car would be the most spacious car in this segment as well as two segments above! We may be looking at leg space rivalling cousin Indigo xL

Manza will also have music system fitted as standard but one can expect different features between variants. Top variant is expected to have similar music system to Indica Vista Anniversary edition with bluetooth, USB, and MP3 player. Steering mounted controls will also feature on some variant/s.

Overall, this seems to be a new inning for Tata Motors and they have made all possible arrangements to make this car a huge success. IMHO, If Tata gets the pricing right (which they usually do!) we can see Manza coming back to dominate the segment which of late has been a playing space for Swift Dzire.

BTW, Manza means 'Young Lady' in Italian or so I am told!
