I just cant find any reason for not liking this car ... ....

I usually get up at 6 am EST and snooze my alarm 2-3 times before I actually get up. But today, just after the first alarm, what I did was to press F5 and refresh this thread hoping for some exciting updates ... And I did find the pricing info which made my day ......

Great Diwali Offering from the house of TATAs

Long name

@ Sidindica - quite right - that name matches the long rear overhang and the massive square boot!

Manza will definitely hit Linea the hardest.
Same selling point, same engine. And targeting kind of same customer base.

Linea needs to come up with next version.

Exciting times for Indian auto market.

Isn't 21.02 km/l is a lot to certify, even under ideal test conditions!?

Now that is where Indica lost it's image as a personal vehicle and the same rubbed off on Vista as well. I would expect TATA to stay clear of the taxi segment as has been the case with Vista.

It looks fantastic on paper. But, we have had so many cars that have looked good on paper only to disappoint. It's long term success will be measured by the quality, performance, how well it actually holds up to use etc.

Still no doubt, it will shake up the entire industry from the B+ segment to the C+ segment (City/Optra/Cedia). How the competition will react to this should be interesting.

Even if manza justifies everything, TATA needs to be prepared for the next version because within a year everyone else is going to come up with newer models and TATA should be ready to counter that. The mid-size sedan games have begun

How many Vista's had you seen as a taxi?
I had seen one till date and that hardly makes it a taxi segment car.
However the base version might attract taxi people.

Didn't checked the colors, have tata launched it in white as well cos if they haven't then they want to steer away from taxi segment for manza.

Overalll excellent pricing yet again(i guess its expected from Tata now)

TATAs have mastered the art of positioning their products. First they surprised everyone with the sub 4 lakh sedan INDIGO CS.

And now they have given a huge blow to so many competitors across the segments with a single product positioned and priced aggressively.

It really feels great, more so because its a completely INDIAN engineered Product (as the name ‘Indigo’ also implies) although with collaborative technology from FIAT. Now I understand why some Americans have been so obsessive about Fords and Chevys and jealous of Hondas/Toyotas/Nissans even though Ford/Chevy's quality is way too below Honda/Toyota/Nissan.

Way to go ..... I am already planning one for my Dad in few months after initial ownership reports are out.
