I hope Ford also launches a 1.6 petrol Figo---at least for the enthusiasts. Punto and i20 petrols have disappointed enthusisasts, so Ford should capitalize on this opportunity.

Ford Figo would be a Big hatch which is capable of directly competing with the likes of Swifts and Puntos. Moreover, if the reports are correct, it is going to have the 1.4TDci heart. So 3.75L or even 4L for ABS + Airbag version is not an optimistic target. It is more of wishfull thinking.

That is what I meant. But, if they do offer, then it would be great and I might buy one for its sheer VFM.

Agreed that Figo looks close to a Fusion, but it is a good looking car by any standard. Fusion could have been a runaway success had Ford priced it well. Jazz is a successor of Fusion in terms of pricing going wrong. Excellent cars but doomed by there price.

Figo is a completely newly designed car with shared components to keep cost low.

Ford seems to have learnt its lessons and they are going to launch Figo in the small car segment, which is the most happening segment in India.

Figo will directly compete with Beat, Vista, Swift, Ritz, Polo and Punto. Don’t you think that’s not good enough reason to be exited?

BUMP. Few more pics from Chennai. Spotted this Morning on NH 45.

IMO, the Front end is plain and lacks presence. The Ground clearance is less than the Fusion.

The black car had no alloys, skinny tyres and no body coloured ORVMs or door handles. Guess, this could be the lowest priced variant.

Thanks a lot para_7k. That will quench some "Figo" thirst!
It could be a plain jane but one can't deny the road presence it has.

Hope they avoid going for skinny tires.

I have the same question too. I hope its slightly different from rather plain black Fiesta interiors, maybe some dual tone colours shud be cool. I wish Figo has i10 like interiors interms of quality and appeal to senses.

Great work, and nice snaps. Good interiors and pricing as being speculated will surely clinch it for the Figo. The Maruti's and the Hyundai's could do with some more competition. I'm not complaining!

Meanwhile God knows why Tata is not letting go of the Cab-sounding Indica/Indigo tags from their recent models.

Thanks for the images para_7k. Nice scoop. I am eagerly waiting for Figo's launch. This might be just right for my office commute. Just wish the interiors are good and Ford gets the pricing right. Keeping fingers crossed

I took only a brief look at the interiors and they resembled the Fiesta with a Grey/Silver Finish.

I think these vehicles are pre-production test versions doing some testing outside chengallpet. Hope the the final production version will have some good interiors.

I read it some where that Ford is betting big on Figo & better they don't mess up there small car venture with some cheap stuff.
