It is all about the market and the consumer. Though the fusion is a great car many of us are bashing these due to high price very few of us praise the advantage of the car.
I think Figo is Facedown rather than Facelift version However customer have a choice now.

I have seen quiet a few figo's during my highway drive near chengalpattu and they look like a mini fusion. The sloping rear might pose a problem in the rear headroom area.

My guess would be a face-lifted Fusion with the 1.6 powerplants in BSIV avatar. With probably new styling cues and clues thrown in from current trends and other Fords in the european market.

It will not be a Kuga, they will go mad trying to sell it here.

It will not be in the price bracket of the current Fusion but probably pitted directly against the Skoda Yeti which is supposed to be launched early next year. A years gap is probably to cash in on generated interest in that particular segment. A price bracket of 9-11 lakhs if they are smart would work.

If it does have a 4WD, it will be similar to the Haldex Clutch versions now popular with most small soft-roader.

But that's just hoping and guessing.

ford cars are tough - there is no doubt about that.

I hope Ford has done enough groundwork for this car in India, and they can launch at competitive price as previously announced.

I am planning one of these for my daily commute! I have already covered 13K in my Fiesta within 6 months of ownership... Not good for a petrol car!

I guess a diesel sibling of the Fiesta, the Figo would set things rite

Isn't the Figo the same as the Mark 6 Fiesta!

IMHO Figo is just the same as the last Fiesta, although the front and rear styling has been modified by adding some elements from the current generation Fiesta and Focus in the European markets. Now in Europe they have a beautiful model of Fiesta hatchback. But the previous Fiesta (aka the soon to be launched Figo) was also a success in its class and a well known driver's car as most of the Ford models.
If Ford has plans to launch a mini MUV, then it might be something from the roots of C-max rather than S-max. If they will be trying to compete with the Innova segment, then also they have a very popular player the S-max.
Afterall the Figo is going to be a great competition for Fiat GP in terms of driveablility.

Worthy suggestion! Considering that 99% of Fords sold in the USA are automatics, and Ford's obvious expertise in the same, they can easily kit the Figo out with an AT. Would be an excellent differentiator and image builder too in the crowded hatchback segment. Well priced diesel + automatic = unbeatable urban car.

The more I see the Figo, I like it. Just a fan of understated simple designs.

The Fiesta comes from Europe where autos are not very popular esp in the B-seg which is entry level there. They surely have one for the petrol but not sure about diesel

Exactly what I was thinking when GTO made his comment on the American brand.

In places like the Middle East however you get Fords both of American and European Descent.

American SUVs, CrownVics and Focus and European Mondeos

General perception (repeat perception) there is that European Autos are not as great as those on the American or Japanese brands.
